2. This isn't really a discovered news package composer...... more like a potentially discovered musical influence that shaped some themes. Have to wonder if this song released in July of 1983 influenced one the main themes of Gari's News Channel and a theme in Gilmer's Image IV package? I also remember a sound-alike version on one of the first Megatrax CD's! I always thought the inspiration came from Flashdance, not this dude. Start from the beginning and notice the 8 second mark. EDIT: just noticed the ending starting at 3:46 is also a dead giveaway and sounds close to the tag of News Channel.

 3. A montage of promos and IDs from Canal 13 in Buenos Aires that aired in July 1999. PD: the David Copperfield promo contains a bit of "Escaped Felon" by Danny Pelfrey and Rick Rhodes, inspired by Gari's music.

 8. Might’ve been possible. This was released around the same time as KCNC’s call letter change (which stands for Colorado’s News Channel) and WSB commissioned the Gari package itself in ‘83...

 9. Good news... Hanna was found! Alive ! Unharmed! She is still at KGTV and still the military reporter. She was never missing....I just didn't look hard enough and somebody else ( I can't say who ) found her...and emailed me. Dopey Me! I'm sorry for the mistake and hope her family is not mad at me. She was not abducted by navy seals...or bears. I have learned a very valuable lesson about "being first".

 11. Can you elaborate? What are the "a lot of problems"? If it's purely ratings based then one of them is in a much harder spot than the other. Fox GDP hit #1 for 7-9a during May '18 book and and their 10p product is #1. Can't say the same about the other network. KYW is dead last in every time period. From a monetary standpoint weak news operations are able to make up lack of ratings\AD sales during prime-time programming.

 12. Bob Perry... the voice of Cox Broadcasting in the ‘80s. Here’s another report from WSOC in ‘85, during their “News Image” era (I believe???)

 14. Easy one. It's VTS Productions' "Looking Out For You", as used by KFDA & KSWO in the late 80's/early 90s. The closing piece is an instrumental from their image campaign, as used by CFTO in 1984:

 15. Saw this a weeks ago and forgot to post. I think it's maybe around 1998, as Mark Baden didn't join 12 until 1997 On a Milwaukee-related note, I am starting to believe that WTMJ didn't switch to Impact until they updated the graphics package "with the ring L3" logo in 1996, as seen here: Unless they switched in December as the KING 1992 theme and first gen jcBD look were still active in November (which the former I believe I also am starting to believe Wow and Flutter composed it, and the 1999 theme KING had.) I am actually in a Broadcast Animation class at MATC, which is teached by the head Graphics Supervisor for many years at TMJ, His demo and channel features some of his work at TMJ here: (1988 special) A bit anxious to ask him about it, even though I had thoughts in my mind about it. I told him a little about my TV News hobby through in my class.
