  2. She was there for 10 years and only gets a 40-second sendoff? Shameful.

  5. Well... actually... ION was on WBDT 26.3 from 2015 until just recently moved into WDTN 2.3 in February. Plus, WBDT carried ION's previous incarnation as PAX from 1998-2004.

  6. Some M&As tonight. Pollack/Belz is selling KLAX to Lost Coast Broadcasting for $3.5M. Also Ion will be acquired four stations from TBN (Ohio's WDLI & WSFJ and Indiana's WCLJ & WKOI). WDLI will duo with WVPX in Cleveland, while WCLJ will duo with WIPX in Indianapolis.

  7. Could we see CBS return to KDLH and NBC return to WISE once the deal is done ?

  9. A very early edition of Good Morning America from 1975 (still featuring dual news anchors, among other things): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=CjLJ0bmMqtI;m=2;s=21

  10. If KIEM is any indication, they'll get a decent and much-needed boost. I could even see locally originated news in the not-too-distant future. The sale also included the associated Me-TV LPTV station which needs digital conversion. There's no opportunity to add another major network affiliation, so I guess Brady is gonna give it a little go.

  11. We got our first real look at Philly numbers in years - it's currently posted in the NYC forum - and while there's a number of interesting takes that can be derived from that the biggest takeaway is 3's numbers. To put it bluntly, they're awful. Particularly the morning hours, which are a very distant fourth compared to the other three stations (which are very competitive - FOX is just .1 behind WPVI at 6am, and WCAU is not far behind). I think you have to blow it up at this point. Change anchors, change the approach, change what needs to be changed. Mornings probably have to be fixed first - the 11pm numbers are kind of decent and short of an act of God those WPVI numbers at 5 and 6 are still going to be astronomically high. I've watched a bit of it and I have to agree - the experiment is a failure. I like some of the ideas, like Summerfest, but it makes no sense to turn the evening and late newscasts into a travelogue or an FYI Philly type show. Something needs to be done, and quick.

  12. Don't know what Brady is going to do with this little station. Brady bought P/B's other station, KIEM.

  13. Holy heck Mark Koebrich is younger than I thought here. He doesn’t even sound like he did years later! Six months later they were using the “9 Country” package that was carried over to WTCN when Gannett acquired them. I’d assume they debuted this package shortly after this was broadcast.

  15. I'm surprised they didn't do an entire newscast like WRAL did in 2006 with Charlie Gaddy, Bobbie Batista, Bob DeBardelaben, and Tom Suiter did. They did the 6pm show and it was a fairly heavy news night for them, so it wasn't a lot of reminiscing.

  18. New M&A. Looks like Quincy wants to acquire KDLH & WISE outright. I guess since the shift of networks after the Granite deal (each are now standalone CW affils), these two stations are now fifth place. Purchase Price: $1.74M ($1,745,661 (WISE $952,884 & KDLH $792,557))
