Willie has no personality and he is overrated. Willie is not a newsman(journalist) he is a studio doll. He got ahead cause of his daddy Bill Geist. A real newsman is a journalist who is not afraid to cover hard news, go to the front lines, be among the people to get the story. Lester Holt, Richard Engel, Scott Pelley, David Muir, are real newsmen. Willie Geist does not do any of that, he stays in the studio, reads the teleprompter and stays bland.

Turned up this letter to the editor from a 1990 edition of the Paducah Sun: OCR mangled the order, but there's an even more interesting 1991 article in here somewhere. It mentions Dan Steele — WPSD's operations and program manager! — who appears on the Copyright Office listing for WPSD Cares About You, and says he composed the work. (No sign of Forrest Turner, though.) There are also two mentions of a Stephanie Hall (née Cratch) who is the main female vocalist for the image song. She also did singing work in Nashville as well as some national commercials as a model (!). There's a surprising amount of detail for market size here - probably helps the two have been co-owned for decades. ——— Speaking of Nashville, from the April 3, 1986 edition of The Tennessean... It would make sense to move Hoda to third hour for her to have a seamless transition. I don't care how much these network hosts complain, they are getting it much better then other people who do more for less. They also need to consider using Sheinelle Jones as a possible replacement to KLG. Sheinelle does very well in that format and I heard that she was a hit in Philadelphia.

Nightly News numbers started ticking down when Brian Williams was still in charge and Muir started beating Williams in demo and viewership. When it started ticking down that was when scandal about Williams lying came in. Nightly News got a big bump when Lester took over in fact Lester was beating ABC triple the viewership then around late 2017, the numbers started to slip at Nightly News. I think part of it was due NBC's scandals with Weinstein, Lauer and also the hiring of Megyn Kelly. I think part of it is affliliate numbers. At my hometown ABC affiliate is highest rated and also carryover is important. Muir is benefiting from cross-over appeal such as being on GMA, making appearences on Kelly Ripa etc. Also where are the places where Muir is getting better ratings from, is he benefiting from coastal cities or middle America. Also let's be honest, NBC has been very biased in their reporting. Lester Holt is not the problem but when you have biased reporters from MSNBC carry onto main network in this hyperpolitical time, it will turn off a lot of people. That is why I believe that NBC Nightly News has to limit the reporters who are on MSNBC.

Not having a logo in such a slickly produced promo suggests they were in transition. They did get a new ND around then, so it's not unthinkable.

Yes. They're seamless interlocking panels covered in hundreds of small LED diodes. In the past couple years, the technology has advanced dramatically on these screens, allowing the pixels to be closer together (pixel pitch) and smaller, all while the costs have come down like crazy. They are arguably more reliable than LCD monitor walls and provide better contrast and a brighter, more color accurate, and even picture. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1354512-REG This is a Samsung branded panel with 1.5mm pixel pitch, meaning there is 1.5mm between pixels. Not sure what brand they're using (NBC has jumped all over in regards to who they're buying their LED walls from) but the technology is at least similar.

In Nexstar's defense....the only issue is that Scott took their video from WMBB's website, and posted it to his FTVLive YouTube channel. Had he simply hyperlinked the original video, it would be a non-issue. But Tom Lewis has blown this way out of proportion. Scott has had his run-ins with people over the years about things on his site, but this has to be the worst I've ever seen. He really hit a raw nerve with him. And based on people who used to work for him, it's not a surprise... At one time (when he was at WJHG)...he not only was the main anchor (for 6 & 10) and news director, but also the co-host of the top-rated radio morning show in Panama City! If that doesn't inflate who you are...

They are a lot brighter than rear projection. These are LED screens where each panel is probably 27 inches diagonal. But unlike LCD or LED backlit LCD screens these allow for seamless appearance. Before they were cost prohibitive and you could make out individual pixels and resolution sucked. Now if you shoot to close to them you can make out pixels. It’s basically the same technology stadium screens use.

Apparently KLAS’ “News Image” period was split up into two parts, with this being the second half. This also must’ve been the tail end of that “8” before they changed their logo.
