  2. He said so in the description. That doesn't mean you can't do your own take, although take note it appears that there are multiple versions of the same exact open (with no variancies in stock imagery and/or voiceover) in some cases in DMA37dude's compilation, so anyone else's version may require some sort of clip sorting to reduce redundancy with another clip in the same compilation.

  3. Almost 2 and a half hours' worth of CNN Headline News (via Greensville, SC NBC station WYFF) from May 31st-June 1st, 1987. Taped during the overnight hours.

  4. Yes, thank you. In fact, cause she appears at 4:11, I’ll mention that Sue Nigra is currently working at a program in Johnstown, NY called Transitions, which is a “college experience” program for people with disabilities. I’ll be visiting that program this coming weekend for a possible opportunity after I graduate high school. And I’ve also gotten a playlist started in Milwaukee, too: Did the 1985 open that features John McCullough accidentally saying “Good night” get taken down? Shame if it did.

  5. My hometown market! I wish that Raycom would give them a new set (Wishful thinking). Mind you 10 years ago this was one of the best sets out rivaling WBTW. This station change the whole market by now all three stations have co anchors for the morning news and for early evening newscast (WBTW went solo anchor for a few years after Martha Hunn left at 5 in 2010). For years it was a sole anchor and a weather person but now all stations have 4 dedicated people for the morning show. As already mentioned they were the first station in HD for a couple of years. This station definitely made the market more competitive and that alone they have a lot to be proud of. Here’s to many more!

  6. It would seem like Sam Ryan is freelancing, much like Andy Field. The posting is still up for the Weekend Sports Anchor and she's not on the website.

  7. I sure wish I could see the first-gen (~1992) News Series 2000+ opens again. phillyvideofan had it up years ago before his channel was suspended.

  9. Not to mention... its still the only place for local news at 4:00 and 4:30 and was the only home for local news at 5:30 for a number of years until WPDE added 5pm news in 2015.

  10. It was included in another form on the video I posted in the Classic Video thread, but I went and got another take of it in (slightly) better quality. The clock ticking to 4 o'clock is something I wish could be reincorporated into opens again, someday.

  12. In Australia, WIN Tasmania is moving the production of its regional news to the mainland -- and eliminating all weekend regional newscasts. This is how ABC Tasmania reported on the development:

  13. Possibly inspired by YT compilations on my channel and that of The ID Junkie, DMA37Dude has decided to create news open compilations, but is focusing solely on his home market of San Antonio. (He asks that no requests for other markets be given.) I don't know if he'll include KVDA and KWEX among the stations he'll focus on, or just the Big Four outlets. First up, WOAI-TV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjAMHaSE2CY

  14. That promo looked more like it was for a lifestyle show than it was for a newscast. I think that's where channel 3 goes wrong. I've found that while Philadelphians like relatable news personalities, at the end of the day they still want a decent straight newscast.
