  3. All I can say is, boy what a dump channel 69 was back then! We can all be thankful that Channel 46 caved in and let CBS make them their new affiliate. BTW, Channel 69's potential purchase by and affiliation with CBS went as far as having them running CBS' daytime shows (CBS This Morning, Price is Right and the soaps) in the weeks leading up to the switch (WAGA had already pre-empted them for an expanded morning news and talk shows).

  4. You never know what you are going to find. I say this, because I came across something rare. WCBI-TV in Tupelo had a reporter named Dan Black and here are a few reports. While scanning through the video, I noticed the first moments of a WCBI newscast from 1979 with news open. You can view the news open with newscast at 4:26. Enjoy this rare piece of video. More rare video...this time, in Jackson, Tennessee. WBBJ-TV had a sports director named Jack Church and is featured in this video. There is no news open, but features a sportscast from Jack himself. Oh, wait. Jack Church also worked for WCBI-TV in Tupelo. Here's more of him from the early 1980s.

  5. In response to why the ABC logo is blackened in the ticker, it's a network thing. Promos for the shows set to come around in the fall have the blackened logo as well, so unless the news department doesn't follow suit, the color-modded logo is dead.

  6. Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy among others have been blocking legitimate reporters on twitter that have question CNN's reporting about this story. Everyone talks about Fox News having mainly older viewers (even though MSNBC and Fox average age of viewers is the same at 61). Fox News tops MSNBC and CNN in every major demo 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 etc.

  10. They were still using “Catch 5” by February 1987. Its been believed (speaking of them) that WAGA had been the commissioner of Good News, and not WPLG, as it didn’t have it either by 1987 as well.

  12. She has already admitted to pushing the girl,,, She is on video...and she is a juvenile . Slap on the wrist. FWIW the networks do not provide lawyers...you have to arrange for your own lawyer if you want one next to you while Michael Strahan interviews you. The very last thing a booking producer wants to hear from you is "I need to talk to a lawyer first"...(full stop)! It is unethical for a lawyer to 'cold call" or "ambulance chase" after a potential client. YOU have to make contact with the lawyer first....they don't just show up unannounced or else they get in big doo-doo with the state bar and can be fined, dis-barred or suspended.
