1. KDVR had a pretty unremarkable history from the time it signed on the air in 1983 until when it became a Fox O&O in 1995 and started a news department in 2000. But this promo theme from 1987 back when they branded as "TV-31" is, uh, a sign of the times. The station's first logo as seen here is also rather unusual too:

 2. Since Mike Davis has been filling in on evenings, who has been handling mornings? If Elwell is returning to WBNS, he could possibly get the morning job especially if the interim wants their old job back. Keeping Mike Davis in the evenings may be good for stability, given all of the other changes afoot...

 4. A bit of a diversion, but Smith is apparently kind of legendary (he got a nice union award some time back)... He also is the voice of political ads for Republicans in all 50 states and Guam and has been doing political ads for 44 years.

 8. I love WEAR too. Their Hummingbird theme is still beautiful. I love any theme that is saxophone driven. Btw just looked on the internet archive and it appears there’s tons of Richmond VA stuff I skipped over - Probably cause my screen recorder audio doesn’t work when I play videos not from an app.

 16.
You can catch a "shuttle" (DC-NYC) every half hour, but it's still flying, and flying anywhere is a pain in the ass...even for network snooty's. So overly inflated ego's want the "private" company owned shuttle (ie:private jet) when they don't or can't make the regular shuttle. Bop between DC and NYC daily or even a few times a week and it takes a toll on anyone. I sure as hell wouldn't do that trip nowadays, because flying anywhere is a giant pain in the ass. Even for the short hop to DC it still sucks worse when you get delayed and say to yourself... "This flight used to take an hour before 9-11" Take my advice...take the train.

@Eat News is right — train from NYC to DC is cheaper, more comfortable and ends up getting you there in the same amount of time of flying once you factor in traveling to/from out of the way airports, security line, wait time to board, etc.
Norah O’Donnel splits her time and frequently posts her races to get to the Delta Shuttle to fly to DC with her kids in tow. Her husbands a successful resteraunteur who has three restaurants in the DC area and one at Dulles.
