  2. It is June 1989 and WTSP has not switched to The Hour just yet...

  3. With Disney now having majority ownership of Hulu, I wonder if soaps can find new life on streaming, even with a half-hour format. They can have it premiere on ABC then have the episodes available on streaming.

  4. Yeah, that was the problem. SS&K didn't really add anything new, the hosts had good chemistry but there's just so many other alternatives out there that the show pretty much gets lost in the shuffle. I'm still surprised that The Chew didn't get a revamp. The show had enough uniqueness to stand out from the crowd. All the show needed was a couple new hosts to spice things up, I. do wonder if ABC has been thinking to bring one of their primetime classic game shows to daytime, seems like an easy move with their relationship with Fremantle.

  5. I like Michael Strahan but he's not needed at crowded GMA. He was good with Kelly Ripa, but Ryan Seacrest is working out fine. Another issue was that GMA 3 was just another face in the already saturated lighthearted--opinionated banter--current events--games and celebrity guests talk show circuit. But hell, I can stomach them over The View. Had Kelly Ripa decided to leave LIVE instead of Michael, I could definitely see Kiki and Sarah working out as his co hosts given their chemistry.

  6. Strahan, Sarah & Keke had good chemistry. I think one weakness was the program being disjoined from the first two hours of GMA. Since OLTL and AMC were axed the time slots have been unstable. Yet, ATWT and Guiding Light's repalcements The Talk & Lets Make A Deal have some how managed to last a decade now.

  7. If they choose not to replace GMA3 with another news/talk program, ABC would have much better luck moving Strahan Pyramid or Press Your Luck to that daily timeslot.

  8. Yep. I don’t see Hogan leaving WRAL for TEGNA. They should’ve never botched the Revish transition by moving Hogan to weekends and bringing in Scalia. Hogan and Harris would have been a great pairing. I am speculating here, but I have a feeling we could see Mark Taylor pop up on 10TV. He gained a following at WCMH, and if he was planning a move to WBNS, it puts his weekend demotion and non-renewal into context. WBNS always poaches talent from the others. Even if Dispatch is no longer in control, this still seems like a possibility. https://mobile.twitter.com/MarkTaylor/status/1278013879067586561

  9. I think WBNS's glory days are long gone, especially with Tegna at the helm. There have been a lot of people who have since left the station, both on-air and behind the scenes.

  10. CNN is still on television, color me shocked! First time tuning to their channel in the past little while, and it's so refreshing to see such objective, non-biased reporting in their chyrons. (rolls eyes) Doesn't matter what your politics are, if you care anything about this business, you should realize how bad this looks towards the profession. Report without bias first, ask questions later, and share opinions late at night.

  11. I think they need to enhance Lester's platform. He needs to make more of a presence on the digital landscape. I love Lester in any program he is in, he has good chemistry with everybody and they all seem relaxed when he is around. I think he would be great on the Today show in a more occassional occurence due to the elections coming up. Craig Melvin is a nice guy but you can't take him seriously when it comes to hard news oriented aspect of the Today show programming. Lester can fill that void and I am sure he be MVPing on the network with the elections and interviews.
