  1. I've split a bunch of material out of the Classic Video Thread to keep it for videos.

  2. Alicia filled in at 4pm and 5pm today at the main anchor desk. She also doubled as the feature anchor. Apparently Sharrie will be on GMA Weekend as the Pop News Anchor this weekend.

  3. I'm going to say, don't hold your breath. I think I've said something on similar lines almost three years ago. When Quincy acquired the former sidecar stations KDLH & WISE from SagamoreHill. Pai just loosen the ownership limits and they didn't need the failed waiver. I wouldn't be surprised if they reverse the network switches. As you see almost 33 months later, the affiliation switches never occured. The CW is still on KDLH & WISE. CBS is still on the sub of KBJR. And NBC is still on the sub of WPTA. So what I'm saying is don't hold your breath if CBS stays on KVEO 23.2. Nexstar has both networks on the same spectrum. Why should move CBS back to 4.1 at this point? Sinclair has recently moved some Fox affiliates from the main channel on their sidecar stations to a sub of the parent station. And NPG has done the same in a couple of markets. Hearst carries MeTV in three of those markets (Birmingham [WVTM], Orlando [WESH] & Sacramento [KCRA]). And unlike Nexstar, Hearst is one of its strongest groups to carry the network. Unless they're trying to fill those other diginets (that's not cleared in those markets), it would be a shame if they move the network away from the Hearst subs to these LPs (should they light them up). I should also point out regarding Weigel's previous HC2 transaction, Weigel will start carrying MeTV to KAZD 55.1 & KYAZ 51.1 at 4am/CT Monday morning.

  4. I wonder if that was the plan all along, as Nexstar kept the CBS 4 branding on the station, even though it was on 23.2...

  6. Here's a friendly reminder to my fellow YouTube posters. Just. Post. News. Now, as we saw with the Sloan account, sometimes newscasts and even opens get flagged, but they're still generally safe. However, anything not news, be it sporting events, soap operas, game shows, etc., are different animals. They're not public domain, and can easily get packaged together in this streaming world, whenever their parent company so chooses. What especially disappoints me right now is that even some reputable accounts that should know better are getting into posting full, non-news broadcasts. "But 24994J, these shows aren't available for public consumption." Too bad, that not a valid defense. Does it suck? Yes. Is it fair? Frankly, also yes. Their property, their rules. Don't want your account scrapped? Don't upload it. Period. Simple enough.

  7. Chris Sloan will be back soon. And I mentioned this before on Discord and here's Sloan's statement. "Working on it. We weren't notified at all about this issue so we were shocked. We are appealing. - Chris Sloan" End of statement.

  9. What gets me is when Michael Pannoni loses an account for suspensions, his other accounts *stay intact*...the ones without strikes or only 1 or 2 strikes. This move marks a new low for YouTube, and if they respond "after review, (bleep) you VHSgoodies! Your hobby, no matter how many people you've inspired, and how many TV station employees thanked you for posting vintage news content from their station, is dead to us and it should be to you too!"...time to boycott YT and go elsewhere. Like the NON-PROFIT Internet Archive.

  11. Western New York's broadcasting is silenced tonight. Legendary (WKBW) 7 Eyewitness News Sports Director/Anchor Rick Azar has died at the age of 91. Azar became a household name working alongside the late great Irv Weinstein, and Meteorologist tom Jolls (Commander Tom). Azar worked at WKBW from when the station signed on in November of 1958 to his retirement in 1989. Thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the Azar family and to his extended family at 7 Eyewitness News. RIP Rick, Godspeed... and say hello to Irv from all of us here.
