  1. Then you live in a delusional world. He’s on a channel that broadcasts conspiracy theories and baseless allegations. Have you seen his Twitter account? Some of his tweets are borderline controversial/racist. I was never a fan of his and believed he only got the job because his dad was police commissioner. But despite his following while he was on GDNY, his image is now tainted.

  2. I think that Greg has done enough at Newsmax to make himself toxic at any normal (call it mainstream if you insist) outlet. At least, I hope that is the case. And I really liked him on GDNY.

  6. I mean it’s likely who he always was even during his GDNY days. People don’t just suddenly become racist morons, they just stop trying to hide their true feelings.

  7. A fifth isn’t necessarily out of the question. Weather is a hallmark for WABC. During severe weather, they often double team their weather people. They have found it useful to have one meteorologist work as weather producer for another during long newscast stretches like the mornings. WABC also has a history of putting weather people in the field to either do climate related stories, for community events, or during sweeps. It also isn’t out of the question that WABC and ABC could be bringing back a resource sharing agreement where WABC provides a weather person to ABC when network news needs one. And finally, the additional person gives them the opportunity to do more online weather updates, live or recorded. As far as the $$$ are concerned, ABC recently gave the owned stations additional specific money to add more diversity to their on-air talent. WABC’s weather team needs that.

  12. I don’t agree with you here.. Greg still has quite the following among viewers and even guests.. a lot of guests that used to appear on good day that no longer do now appear on Greg’s show.. you see a few people on Twitter that don’t agree or fire bsck or whatever on his page but that’s all SM.. if Greg were to come back (chances are low) i don’t see it hurting in any way

  13. Why do people continue to watch this guy? He's such a sleaze, especially after he ripped off my channel (and continues to do so). Anyways, here's a version without the first three seconds cut off, and no Bandicam watermarks either to boot.

  14. I’d think so. I’ll be mad if he’s back on the show. He comes off as likable although I would think he’s burned his bridges.

  16. If the term of the channel sharing arrangement (CSA) expires and the parties decide not to renew, then the the spectrum-less station would be free to form a new CSA with a new station. ______ What I forgot to mention yesterday was 12 years ago was the anniversary of the DTV transition of 2009. That was when all the full power analog signals had to be turned off. Today is the 13th. So next month on July 13, the remaining low-power and translator stations have to turn off their analog signals. It shouldn't be any analog nothing at this point. But the FCC has made a list of about 300+ analog LP/TXs that have yet to file for a digital construction permit, and they're at risk of losing their license if they don't do so. They have also reminded permittees of those unbuilt LP-permits to finish constructing its signals by the July 13 deadline, or ask for a waiver to file for an extension of time.

  17. In my personal opinion, it is completely unfair to consider NewsNation a fail less than one year after they launched (as a newscast). I think it is self-evident that there are those who literally want NewsNation to crash and burn, because Nexstar had the idea of creating a news channel. I think we can all agree that any start-up has to make changes as time goes on with plenty of room for improvement -- and this is no different. They are undoubtedly experiencing growing pains and people should keep that fact in mind. I also think it is also unfair to tie NewsNation directly to the decline of WGN America. WGN America had seen better days before Nexstar, to put it mildly. And now Nexstar is injecting new life into the channel under the new NewsNation brand. As much as people want to say otherwise, WGN America was not going to survive long-term without major changes. And now Nexstar is making changes that, in my opinion, puts the channel on the best possible path to being successful. I personally would've preferred that they kept the WGN America name, at least nominally, to maintain continuity of the brand. But nonetheless, I think NewsNation has a solid concept and they are well on their way to fulfilling their mission. I agree that NewsNation cable feed should be more accessible to digital users, but we should also remember that they have to turn a profit and just making it free over the Internet, while trying to be successful on cable, can short-circuit their success on cable. Finally, referring to the NY Times piece, I think it is ridiculous to suggest NewsNation has some kind of unique bias. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot, the NY Times would have no objections. I perceive NewsNation as being objective and trying to be fair. There is no such thing as a perfect news outlet. But I would say NewsNation is among the best on cable right now for straight news.
