  1. So, with ABC expanding and enhancing the O&O's streaming utilities and offerings, WLS has debuted slower-paced, relaxed, and conversational newscasts at 7am and 7pm. Talent assignments haven't been announced for either hour, but Terrell and Tanja remain together til 7:30am, when Val Warner joins one of them (whoever is anchoring the GMA updates, that day). Tracy and Roz are around, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGimVvDXQGc Meanwhile, Rob and Cheryl anchored at 7pm for the first 2 nights, while both were off on Friday, when Ravi and Judy sat in. As I said, the show is pretty laid back, which is a nice change of pace, but the real highlight is the open. Never mind that they screwed around with the pitch of Bill Ratner's voiceover, BUT CHECK OUT THE THEME. I have almost zero reason to believe the old theme is making a comeback, but someone over there had to put in the effort to dig this out of storage, so who knows? Please note that each video is set to either private or unlisted, and will remain that way until the station formally announces their existence. It's certainly not a national secret or something, but I'd rather both videos stay among this community, for now. I'd appreciate it.

  2. May I request that this thread be renamed "The Nexstar Graphics Thread"?

  3. One thing people forget is that, for the headlines WKYC had with their makeover, WEWS did similarly with Scripps getting their stations to veer away from flashy crime-heavy headlines in favor of “meat and potatoes” news… and WEWS didn’t ballyhoo it at all.

  4. Well given the very questionable financial situation Sinclair is currently in—and it’ll get even worse with no MLB this year—the networks may be simply biding their time.

  5. Looks like WBZ has already adopted the new "CBS News Boston" branding on their CBSN stream. The logo bug and "we'll be right back" graphics have changed.

  6. It is possibly time for new graphics. Going on at least 8 1/2 years. Plus yes, around the fall will be marking 30 years since NS2K+ came along and became the major and lifelong piece of Chicago news music history.

  7. I can't watch the video due to technical issues on my end, but assuming this "old theme" is News Series 2000+, it's important to know that 2022 will be 30 years since this package launched.

  8. WCSC only debuted their current logo in 2019. Not brand new, but unlike WAVE, they're not dealing with a 20 year old relic. A special logo for the anniversary, sure, but I highly doubt there'd be something totally new (old).

  9. The station turns 70 next year so we'll see.

  10. We've seen WMAQ's coverage of Chicago's Blizzard of 1979 (above). Now, thanks to WBBM's own YouTube account, here's that station's coverage: Part 2: Part 3: Part 4:

  11. I agree. I do love the network look.

  12. Haha. They admire WRCB's...creative aspects, even though Nexstar popularised the branding. Unrelated stations don't need the same branding.

  13. WJMN just changed their logo on Facebook to remove the CBS eye. Not sure if this signals a change or is merely cosmetic. https://m.facebook.com/wjmntv/photos/a.455154054519001/5039179752783052/?type=3&m_entstream_source=timeline

  14. Does Nexstar Really think they will be able to compete against the unbeatable WRAL and ABC O&O WTVD? If I were Nexstar, I would sell this station to CBS Already. Raleigh is a growing market and how poor this is proves that either Nexstar has given up or doesn't care. CBS could do so much better if this station was an O&O again.

  15. From how the Marquette fiasco seems to have gone, the mass renewal is less “despite WJMN” and more “because WJMN”

  16. Nexstar does not think they will be able to compete against WRAL and WTVD. Their main/only market are people who are loyal CBS viewers and went mad by the fact WRAL lost its CBS affiliation. In other words, all of the ex-Outlet operated TV stations are in ruins. WCMH has a weak anchor team and poor graphics. They are a divestiture option for Nexstar, though. WJAR is just your regular Sinclair station. Obvious Fact: WJAR and WCMH have the same VO. WLWC is now just an empty shell after Michael Dell mercilessly sold it's spectrum and CW affiliation. They have a virtual channel assignment, and CourtTV accessible on that VC. That's it. You can see what Nexstar did to WNCN, right here on this thread! And lastly, WWHO is owned by a guy named Stephen P. Mumblow. There is not much money being invested in this station besides the engineering department. 360 is retained. They can do away with the unnecessary 3D, gradients are superior. Also, I WISH that Nexstar would stop offering this package to stations since Circle City has since bought its original user.
