You’re way too obsessed with the black/gold look at KD. Any future new O&O graphics will be standard on KD and not black/gold.4 points

I like the new CBS News look overall (even though I don't care for the name) but the CBS NEWS bug is too wide. They seem intent on keeping the small eye the same size and position across all broadcasts (news, primetime, etc.) but I wish they could have come up with a better solution.2 points

The changes brought CBSN very much in line with the extensive visual and brand rebrand that CBS News has gone through in recent times. It continues to tie so many of their brands together. Throughout the day, the CBS News Streaming Network will air live daily newscasts of up-to-the minute news. Anchors Vladimir Duthiers, Anne-Marie Green, Tanya Rivero, Lana Zak, and Elaine Quijano will now, for the first time, be joined by Tony Dokoupil, co-host of CBS MORNINGS; Michelle Miller, Jeff Glor and Dana Jacobson from CBS SATURDAY MORNING; Jericka Duncan, anchor of CBS WEEKEND NEWS and CBS News national correspondent; and correspondents from across the Network. The evening lineup kicks off at 6:00 PM, ET with the nightly political program RED AND BLUE now drawing upon CBS News’ Washington team of anchors and correspondents. At 7:00 PM, ET, the CBS News Streaming Network will deliver a live prime time news hour, recapping all of the top stories of the day and leveraging our New York headquarters and Washington and Los Angeles Bureaus. Beginning at 8:00 PM, ET the stream will present content from CBS News’ flagship broadcasts The new changes include weekly shows highlighting several of CBS' longtime brands - CBS Sunday Morning, Money Watch, Climate Watch, Eye on America, On the Road, etc. And for fun, attached is a .gif of the new CBS News Mornings (previously CBSN:AM). High-res pics from CBS PR are also attached2 points

Trust me, the fact that she was sent to do her live shot alone doesn't really fall on anyone at the station. It all comes from higher ups who demand fat profit margins on a shoestring budget in an era of declining ad revenue. And manpower is always the easiest thing to cut. This is pretty standard across companies like Gray, Nexstar, etc. especially in smaller markets. And while this has restarted the conversation, nothing is going to change. Hilton Howell or Pat LaPlatney are not going out at night doing their own live shots so they do not care. And unfortunately, people are going to forget about this rather quickly. It's not like the industry learned from the death of Adam Ward and Alison Parker, right? And then the industry wonders why there's a "Great Resignation"...2 points

I love this new look of the streaming network. The graphics look simple but great, the new music sounds amazing and the set looks fantastic (and the desk finally has a regular home). This whole new look is very well done and better than both ABC and NBC by far.1 point

The only graphical changes to the CBS News locals today were a new title card and logo. Otherwise, it’s still the core 2018 CBSN Local package. Any new graphics will debut on the O&Os and the streaming platforms simultaneously.1 point

That's a nice graphics package! Finally brings America on par with the rest of the world in terms of motion graphics.1 point

When Emmis had KHON and KGMB in Hawaii, their newsrooms were kept separate. Doesn't Sinclair have a degree of separation between WOAI and KABB in San Antonio as well? Though not a true duopoly the same could be said if WEAR and WPMI if anything for the geographical quirks of that market.1 point

They actually debuted it during their winter storm coverage the night before, but it is a nice addition to the set. It's right next to the weather center where a touchscreen monitor once was.1 point

WNYW and WWOR kept their news departments seperate, from Fox's acquisition of Chris-Craft in 2001 all the way until the shutdown of WWOR's news department in 2013.1 point

It is possibly time for new graphics. Going on at least 8 1/2 years. Plus yes, around the fall will be marking 30 years since NS2K+ came along and became the major and lifelong piece of Chicago news music history.1 point

WCSC only debuted their current logo in 2019. Not brand new, but unlike WAVE, they're not dealing with a 20 year old relic. A special logo for the anniversary, sure, but I highly doubt there'd be something totally new (old).1 point

Note Joseph Benti's comments beginning at around the 29:45 mark. His embarrassment hints at his growing doubts about local TV news, a dissatisfaction that caused him to leave the industry a few years later.1 point

Yeah...that was stupid. I hope the idiot who thought of that got cut. Absolutely stupid and dangerous. Glad she's still alive1 point
