  1. Looks like WPCH (Peachtree TV) will be ramping up its local programming offerings to create more Atlanta centric programming. https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/briefs-gray-hires-peachtree-tv-station-manager-capital-b-news-launches-charles-barkley-ponders-leaving-inside-the-nba/VOWKRU6BM5CQRBWFKOOEVTYICM/ Time Warner did this originally after the TBS split, but it was short-lived especially after the operations were turned over to Meredith, replacing the original content with syndicated programs.

  2. And in a long sign of the times, nothing in the FAQ about an audio simulcast on 87.7, which they fought and lost to keep in 2009 (I assume once SBG came in, they said 'stop it' and ended the efforts). One good thing about the phone age is that any TV station can technically be 'on the radio' if their stream audio is converted to Bluetooth/plugged directly into a head unit.

  3. We now know who will take Andy Adler's old spot; Mark Malusis from WFAN. He premieres Monday. https://barrettsportsmedia.com/2022/02/17/marc-malusis-taking-lead-sports-anchor-position-at-new-yorks-wpix/

  4. Colorado 7 News at 10, taped about 7 months before KMGH's affiliation swap. Lynn Setzer is the anchor. (Personal note: I love that old circle 7 logo with the green mountains. Denver's TV stations have boring logos nowadays that don't celebrate the mountainous region they serve. Even KRMA, which had mountain graphics in their logo, dumped it recently when PBS had their major redesign nationally.)

  5. I wish HLN would do more non-political news as a contrast to CNN. Or that CNN would stop being so fixated on 24/7 Trump coverage.

  6. I would like this. Sounding like a broken record but, CBS has tried a number of things to help itself in the evening and morning only to remain in last place. If Bri Wi were to go to the eye network I think that'd have to be coupled with some sort of formatting change. Perhaps increased international hard news aside from COVID, and calming the overuse of "breaking news". All three evening (and morning) national newscasts seem to cover the same thing so differentiation *MIGHT* help CBSEN. Otherwise he'd just be another face trying the same thing. Even if CBSEN still remains in third, Williams with his grand narrative style and commanding presence would be a more stable presence than Norah and the revolving door of other lead anchors since Schiffer's departure. As much as like Lester, I do think the pacing, and anchor delivery of NNN were better under Bri Wi.

  7. Classy yet emotional sign off by Brian Williams... Words can't describe how I feel as he signs off the network for the last time, with the election theme and NYC skyline shot fading in. I don't know how to describe it but there's just something that fascinates me with BriWi's ending sequence "On behalf of all my colleagues at the networks of NBC News, goodnight" accompanied by the election closing theme every weeknight and I'm gonna miss it so much (maybe Brian's style is just so breathtakingly verbose and it just blends in so well with the election closing theme every night). I wish whoever that take over his position as chief anchor will continue to carry on his narrative and verbose style of anchoring.

  9. “I’ll show myself out, until we meet again, that is our broadcast for this Thursday. Thank you for being here with us, and for all my colleagues at the Networks of NBC News, Goodnight.” -BW. I am sad, I will miss seeing Brian every night. Growing up I never missed Nightly, Brian was my hero and why I got into news. I’m excited to see what his next adventure is, Brian certainly proved that any kid can make it to that anchor desk.
