Lower thirds look a lot nicer... much cleaner. But the open (the animation after the long tease) is incredibly dull.

Yeah, I'm guessing that it just doesn't make sense to have a set with a bunch of unnecessary clutter, like they had in the living room looks. It worked then, but it just doesn't translate now, especially all the fake plants. I also bet it wouldn't have looked too good in HD. The set that GMA debuted when they went HD took away a lot of the excess stuff, and I do think this still looks pretty handsome. That said, the thing I'm missing in morning TV, these days, is a bit of warmth, which this 2005 set had, along with texture and depth.

I don't know why; but I feel like with the current Gray graphics packages, WAVE and KGMB/KHNL have the best implementations of them so far.

Well, Disney's the one company that lobbies to extend copyright law, and ABC has filed strikes on people who've uploaded classic soaps in the past, even though they aired just once. With streaming in full swing, I wonder if they'll ever release those seasons, even if it's a lot of episodes. If it's a newscast that aired that once that was the result of the account being banned, that's petty on their part.

Good for him. I wish him the best and I hope he has much better, more content and less volatile tenure with CNN+ as his former employer becomes an even more dark cloud of intentional embellishments, falsehoods and misinformation.

I can't say I'm surprised. I read that he expressed criticism at some of the opinion content that has come out of the organization, so I guess his departure at the end of this contract is the next logical step in the process.
