  1. Austin posted in the comments of the Studio 31 video that the music is totally licensed and we can contact "Mark Agent" about it, or somebody named "Gary". I'm just curious how they managed to license all these themes.

  2. Sure doesn't sound like someone who would be thinking about getting licenses for newscast themes.

  3. "Gary" is station owner Gary Cocola, who is the "king of Central Valley LPTVs." He leases most of those channels out to third parties.

  4. This has become such a tired argument. GMA has always (but one period between 2007-2012) been the more lifestyle / entertainment focused show. It was introduced in 1975 to be that alternative to a more news focused Today. GMA’s entire first hour is solidly news and current events. It’s resonating with viewers and has been for the last 10 years. ABC has always had strong local affiliates yet still couldn’t top Today for 16 years. This argument also sucks because Today is equally as “tabloid” as GMA. They’ve just got two extra hours to spread it out. Surely you’re not praising the show that glamorizes 10am cocktails as some bastion of Cronkite-level journalism and expecting anyone here to take you seriously. CNN does a great morning show that may be more of what you’re after.

  5. You're asking if anyone watches the morning show that happens to have the most total viewers? (Today wins narrowly in some demos). They must be doing something right... it's almost as if a majority of viewers don't care about news and would rather wake up to something softer and more digestible.

  8. Bigger concern... someone should be reaching out to Warner Chappell who actually owns the copyright for those works.

  9. I have returned to making Videos with a new Youtube Channel and working out the issues with the last channel. The First News open I uploaded was Today's WTOV 5 PM Open.

  11. KMSG did the impossible. They made WSVI look like WSVN. I can understand a budget of nothing and a staff of just Austin and a producer, but Ed Agre was a news department of one and KXGN put out a far more competent product on-air.

  12. Dennis Prager tried to put his hat into the ring based on the minor success Rush Limbaugh was getting on his TV program. It didn't work. Gloria Allred is a guest in this episode, and also includes a WPTA Fort Wayne sign-off.

  16. What a disaster. The whole newscast is just content lifted from other news outlets (including some from other Fresno stations). Looks like a failed reporter who is just putting his YouTube show full of stolen content onto TV?

  17. If it were another public figure such as an actor who takes a leave of absence from a TV show or a singer who cancels concert dates, the press would speculate and demand answers as to the cause. There’s often a double-standard in television news when it comes to on-air talent, who are public figures, and their lives. Suddenly, the newsroom decides to respect a person’s privacy to the point of not even acknowledging anything has occurred.
