  1. That's better numbers than Nexstar's NewsNation for sure.... Maybe they should run a Matlock marathon? It could easily double or possibly even triple their current numbers... And if they make it available on OTT...oh wait...

  2. This might sound weird but what if MSNBC had a different person host the 9PM ET hour every night permanently? My idea: Mondays: The Rachel Maddow Show Tuesdays: Cross Connection with Tiffany Cross Wednesdays: Alex Wagner Thursdays: Velshi with Ali Velshi Fridays: Someone from the weekend such as, Ayman Mohyeldin, Alicia Menendez or Katie Phang. Each host would bring a different perspective and different set of topics with them, it would make each night a must watch for MSNBC viewers as they’d only see them once a week. (with the exception of those who have weekends shows.) They could even have Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle team up and bring back Velshi & Rhule on Thursdays if they wanted, the options are endless and would create a strong, stable competitor that viewers would love. Just an idea. Let’s hope they don’t mess this up.

  3. Surprised they did that, given that they pre-empted their regular programming to show that. I already had no idea why they take off their regular programming to show soccer in the middle of the day on a weekday.

  4. The decision to be the only station not carrying the presser looks pretty bad. It reminds me of their fail last summer when strong storms moved through the tristate area. Train stations were flooded and the MTA service completely suspended stranding passengers all across the city and WABC still went to Jimmy Kimmel Live lol. Their closing image was passengers stranded at Times Square station followed with “we’ll see you at 4:30am.” Sam Champion has to be reading this board because today he doubled down on his wardrobe. I don’t mind it personally but they have to be intentionally having him dress down right?

  6. Ehh….honeycomb is worse. The WBTV graphics are the best hands down! It’s a Bruce evolution of the LIM4 graphics package. I wish that WOIO’s graphics would become available to all stations.

  8. 20 years of Robin on GMA celebrated this morning. Shouldn’t Ginger’s 10 year be coming up soon? I don’t remember seeing much of anything about George’s 10 years with the show in 2009.

  9. Uhhh, so apparently TWC and CBS News had a quiet relationship a few months before this deal was ever announced? I just found these videos from January on YouTube: Looks like now that severe weather season has started, most of their recent videos use this "lightning flash" effect that occurs throughout the entire segment. There is very dark lighting on the OCM, followed by a "lightning flash" that occasionally lights up the OCM's face and body. Can anybody tell if this lightning flash effect is 100% virtual or if they're actually flashing a physical light in the studio to emulate this lightning effect?

  11. Agreed, their talent is okay, but some of their tans look awful and dress like it's 1950's aka Lee Goldberg. Others can dress whatever way they want and doesn't have to wear a suit and tie aka Sam Champion. I don't get the hype about either of them, especially Sam. Their best team is the Weekend PM team.

  12. Jim Ramsey, longtime weather anchor and reporter at WGN-TV for 30 years from 1987 to 2017 (and whose career in Chicago began at WLS-TV years before), has died at the age of 69. As someone who watched him regularly growing up on the former WGN superstation feed, all I can say is… we’ll miss you, Jim.
