  1. I'd whack his transaction just because he's playing the race card. He's a bankster parasite that was pushing the limits of the law. It has nothing to do with his heritage.

  2. If they all want this deal to go through so badly, they need to pool all of their money together and buy out Apollo's share. Then again, to do that may be more than they can afford. It's a systemic problem when so much of broadcasting is tied up in these equity firms and mega-companies that "new" owners can't buy their way into these companies unless they don't have ties to foreign entities or have massive overlaps with existing broadcasters (with the Apollo/Cox conflicts). The only way may be to let these mega-companies fail and have the stations sold at auction to the highest bidder. The hope is that there are enough leftovers for new companies to enter the fold and have a chance at running a station when the license can be bought for a song. We're beginning to see the bubble burst with the Diamond/Sinclair fiasco, and it's having an effect on Sinclair itself with some of the recent cutbacks they've made. Nexstar may be next when the gouging of cable viewers catches up to them.

  3. It's been established that new graphics (whether a heavy update or complete overhaul) is coming, this spring, but whether or not they debut Monday is TBD.

  4. Was not expecting two different launch dates. I also didn't realize that the afternoon block would come from DC, but I should have seeing who the anchors are. I guess this is why Wolf Blitzer has been at a flash cam instead of the usual studio for the last few weeks, at least. I wonder if we'll also see new network-wide graphics on Monday or later in the month.

  6. This feels like a case where they probably wanted everything to go live on Monday 4/3, but perhaps the DC studio wasn't ready in time. I can only imagine that due to contractual/personnel reasons, they have to go live with the debut of the NYC morning block on Monday 4/3, and simply out of necessity, they're having to delay the afternoon block a few weeks while they put the finishing touches on the studio. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

  8. Because of false threats of active shooters at schools in the Pittsburgh area, KDKA is in breaking news mode, which means the logo box and the time/temperature/ticker are in red.

  9. I like the SVN graphics...nice use of light, dimension, make the logo heroic, and easy to read. They keep offering a. refreshing difference from all the dull, bland flatness out there.

  10. The WBZ news at noon while showing a graphic promoting an upcoming interview with Robert Kraft that’s going to air during their 5pm news tonight was sporting the new o&o logo format. CBS News Boston with WBZ in a small box off to the left.

  11. I’m sorry, but that pee-stained Spirit Airlines vibe looks awful. They should have been forced to use the same colors like everyone else.

  12. CNN should be trying to woo Shep Smith. He’d be an excellent addition. And given all the current turmoil at FOXnews, I wonder how many of their journalist on and off camera are considering a jump to one of the other cable news nets.

  14. Welllllllll...you're kind of correct. This logo has been plastered over on the station's creative services channel. While it hasn't launched, and could theoretically still change, it appears that the '3' isn't going away, entirely.
