Seeing as how WLUC is the absolutely dominant station in the area by a longshot, there's little incentive to change.

Towards the middle is an unaired, and until now unknown, package presumably composed for KTVI.

Yeah, I definitely understand that aspect of it; that’s money better spent on the actual news product. I still can’t say I’m a big fan of Barlow though. There are plenty of free knockoff DIN fonts out there that would’ve looked better IMO. But it’s not the biggest deal in the world relative to everything else.

The font is Barlow. It’s free to use. Makes sense why multiple station groups use it, one less thing to pay to license for 100+ stations…

I like Rosanna Scotto, and I agree with her on congestion pricing, but her bias really comes through on some news stories. This interview made it obvious. During the Lori era I noticed that Stokes always tried to keep it straight news woman whereas Rosanna inserted her personality and sometimes two cents into certain news matters. Her time with Greg was no exception. Has anyone else noticed this?

I concur on the font - it just looks too “chunky” (the only word I could come up with). The “SIOUXLAND’S NEWSCHANNEL” font is fine, but there are much better general L3/GFX fonts available. Even going back to the basics (Helvetica/Univers/DIN 1451/Frutiger/Myriad/News Gothic) would look better, IMHO. Just for god’s sake, please do not use Arial!

The GrayOne package looks nice and all, but I still hate the main font. I thought I read somewhere it was chosen because it was "easy on the eyes?" And the fact that Nexstar has a package that uses it in many markets....

I So is WPVI and WTVD. All 3 stations are starting a 10am news to replace Rachael Ray.

WBBM is moving Drew Barrymore back to 2pm this fall. (h/t @24994J)

KTIV has gone to the GrayOne graphics. And they have a brand new production center as well.
