  1. There's a pretty good op-ed piece that came out last week from Next TV's Alan Wolk about how Thompson's work should start with CNN.com. As someone who visits the website multiple times a day, I'm paying attention here. YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES! Outbrain and its ilk need to go far, far away from all serious news sites.

  2. I wouldn't dwell TOO much on the flat look to the updated shield, as the other recent logos have had a flat/print version, as well. Still, though, can't rule anything out. What's most important/notable is that the 2023 model differs from last year's...

  3. With the new Big Ten deal, Columbus, Ohio's playing field may level out a little more after WSYX/WTTE has had explosive success with their coverage of the Ohio State teams. Now that NBC and CBS have games as well, it's the first time in years where 10TV has aired a Buckeyes football game (even going back to the ESPN broadcasts). 6. No new switches to report, but apparently WBTV has a new logo now - which hasn't made it on air yet (this came from their VUit page). This is different from the one @Axiom81 shared a few months ago, but the basics are about the same.

  7. More sad news from New York City... NY1 anchor/reporter Ruschell Boone has lost a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. She passed Sunday (9/3) at age 48. This on the heels of the passing on Saturday (9/2) of Dr. Max Gomez, former medical correspondent for several stations in NYC and Philadelphia.

  8. They want to keep Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune together, like in the Eastern and Pacific Time Zones. Many stations in central and mountain either have to split the times across the day, or only select one show while another station gets the other.

  9. KTVT CBS News Texas is apparently rebranding once again and dropping News from the name. They are also dropping the 6pm newscast and adding a 7pm newscast on KXTA all starting September 11th. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2023/8/27/cbs-oampo-ditches-6pm-newscast
