  1. The only way they can make the newscasts better is by having each station serve their respective markets, not this consolidated nonsense.

  2. It sounds like he is preparing for retirement by being sure to transfer his knowledge across the group. I don't think he will have any on air role going forward. With his experience, it is well deserved.

  5. 1983 per the copyright… interesting to see Dave Courvosier at 12 - I’m used to seeing him on Vegas… Also, the Food Horizon’s ad (2nd ad in after Roberta droning on about her 3rd mobile home from Farrell’s) music sounds like something a smaller market station might have used for their own local news at the time. 6. Little did we know that WTSP would become a sister station to KPNX in 1995. Not to mention the switch from ABC to CBS to go with Gannett buying Channel 10. A connection to Jineane Ford right there. Both KPNX and WTSP are owned by Gannett (now Tegna)

  7. Since all the episodes are available on-demand lately it's probably more that than anything rather than CBS mob-tacting them; at the end of the day it's yet another 'if you haven't seen it, it's new to you' syndicated package that fills an easy hour and captures the audience which doesn't want to deal with Freevee. And it certainly isn't original content in 2024. What is CBS going to do, take away their Dr. Phil reruns? No, not the Dr. Phil reruns from 2018 we air at 4am anyways that OWN and Pluto also air and will clog Merit Street soon, please don't take those.

  8. A call sign change (which won't happen to begin with) won't change the fact they're stuck with a standalone AM they can't sell, with demos older than dirt.

  9. Mission's stations were pulled from Dish in early January 2023, so 54 weeks have passed between the start and resolution of the dispute. Mission's dispute with DirecTV began three months before the Dish dispute.

  10. KTVN 2 News in Reno just revealed a new studio and the new (current) CBS O&O graphics and is known on air as 2 News Nevada. https://www.2news.com/news/ktvn-unveils-local-news-brand-update-new-studio/article_a617591c-b950-11ee-8b11-4398a48a02bc.html?

  11. Here we go ... KRCR ... Northern California's legacy snoozefest ... now has three solo anchors for their evening newscasts. Glenn Cassie has been added there. So, one anchor from 5-6 that retires every few years and then comes back, one from 6:30-7, and then one that does 7/10/11. Either they're prepping for a third retirement for the 5 anchor or they have money to spend. A better idea would be to pair up and have traditional two anchor newscasts because the 6:30 person is very green.

  12. WKBT has had them for over a year. They debuted them when they debuted Ross Overdrive in 2022. It was a test to see if their VP of news actually liked this vision or if he wanted to switch back to the old look. (I worked there during this transition.)
