  1. Some of these stations I'm sure are desperate for help. I believe in second chances, but she royally screwed this one up.

  2. I wonder if WOIO 19 News Cleveland is about to flip the switch??? I noticed they updated their weather graphics online (just not on air yet.)

  3. Well well well, look who showed up at Fox Weather, starting today... Yep, that's Mike Seidel, who was laid off from TWC back in May. Today was his first day appearing with Fox Weather. Stephen and Kendall welcomed him to Fox Weather, also mentioning that Mike Seidel has been given the title of "Storm Specialist" with the network.

  4. 6abc is getting a new set! They are in a temporary one, and Maggie Kent posted this on her Facebook page.

  5. I knew it would be fast. My question is did KBTX know about Kovar and her drunken incident and decide to give her a second chance knowing she may go through another incident again? I'm just curious about KBTX's process for hiring her. I don't know if it will be the end of her (despite what I said on Discord in which I apologize) but let's see what happens.

  6. That's a HUGE get for the network. If they needed anyone to help up their presence at the network, its anyone from TWC and luckily, that's him.

  7. The Coastal Alaska agreement seems to have ended some time in 2023. They were also producing "Georgia News at Nine" on WGTA and I'd be curious to know what happened there last night.

  8. Maggie Kent announced on the newscast this morning that their studio is getting a "makeover". The newscast this morning is being shot from their newsroom & weather office.

  9. No, they absolutely couldn't have. They were temporary content distribution on digital subchannels. Nothing they offered was original or anything I wasn't getting elsewhere. Precursor to CNN's final nail?

  11. And as of yesterday, he's now on KPNX (NBC Phoenix). He'll be anchoring 12News from 4-5:30PM after the Olympics with Tram Mai (4PM) & Caribe Devine (5PM) as Mark Curtis cuts down his work, but will continue to anchor at 6 & 10. https://www.12news.com/article/news/local/arizona/troy-hayden-joins-12news/75-43c03ea9-34fb-4f59-bf49-fa359e8b9b40

  12. *UPDATE*: I have yet to see an official article, but KBTX has SCRUBBED Heather Kovar's bio off their Meet the Team page... So it's safe to assume that she is no longer an employee there as well...

  13. NewsNet could have been something greater. I never understood why they never updated their graphics. They looked horrible and off putting. It looked so bad compared to MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, CNBC, NewsNation, etc..

  14. The "OG" WMNN stream is currently stuck on a loop of a few seconds of a sports report (something something HLS) with a 9:22AM CT/10:22 ET/etc. timestamp. Also, Remington Hernandez has also confirmed the closure on his Instagram. I've said quite a bit about NewsNet/MI News 26 over the years... It's unfortunate it ended this way. I thought the original MI News 26 idea was decent, I just don't think Cadillac had enough going on to really necessitate it. I had a bad feeling about the change to NewsNet and thought it was unfortunate so many resources got dumped into it vs. the localized version. I don't remember seeing much localized content on the other "O&O" stations, which was a little sad to see. I think they lost their way with the national concept, and it unfortunately caused the whole thing to crash down. Like the launch of the SportsNews Highlights channel just made zero sense to me. They seemed to be going after a market that no longer exists. All of their content was available from 1000 different sources, why would I bother with finding their channel on some odd low-power station that I probably can't even receive anyways? Hopefully, there's a chance for Eric Wotila to reclaim the Cadillac stations and pick up at least some of the pieces, and get some of those who lost their jobs today back to work.

  16. Twitter and Facebook are frozen on the last jobs report so it might be on the morning video loop with no one minding the store. Twitter/Facebook is frozen on the monthly jobs report. Stick a fork in it; it's done. Seems like the folks who have been financing the Five Hour Energy guy's spare parts media empire are done with him too; I saw an absolutely long and long-winded 'buy 2 get one free' offer on cases of the stuff last night scanning by FNC which means their longtime agency also was done with them. Next spoke to watch will be ShopHQ, which turned down an all-but-done deal with RNN to become a part of Indian-American Byron Allen's company; and we'll have to see what happens to Coastal's own news ops.

  18. My local station sent me the CW+ fall schedule. Like this season, some other syndicated programming has been inserted into the infomercial breaks. Times I have are central. I believe ET has a slightly altered schedule, with one hour moving from afternoon to late night. The big addition is True Crime News at 6:30 and 11p; and Friends from 9-10p. A third Wilkos is added at 1p, replacing Springer. TMZ/Dish Nation from 10-11p. Chicago PD (not sure if it's CW+ or syndicated) at 11:30. We the People from 5-6a, followed by Paternity Court reruns from 6-7a. Family Guy and Bob's Burgers are gone.

  19. They needed a logo update... but not this.. blah... Also I wonder if this means that KBTX is around the corner too.. Both stations already have the GrayOne Weather Graphics but old graphics packages... Hmmmm

  20. On that same note, Gayle King has done a good job of establishing herself as the "Barbara Walters" of CBS. Saying Nora's leaving to focus on big interviews smells like when Ann Curry was leaving Today to be a part of a "globe trekking news team".

  21. (sarcastic post) Coming early 2025: The CBS Evening ScrippsCast with no anchor.

  22. I feel like that would amount to a Jeff Glor 2.0 situation. Moderately known, middle aged, all American anchorman who gets the job done but ends up gone in a few years. The advantage that ABC and NBC have is that they have well groomed anchor talent waiting in the reserves. If David & Lester were to quit tomorrow, Tom Llamas, Savannah Guthrie, Peter Alexander, or George Stephanopoulos, Lindsay Davis and Whit Johnson could step in ASAP.

  26. So now CBS will be looking for their 5th or 6th anchor for the Evening News in a 20-year span. Is Shepard Smith doing anything? I feel like he would be a good hire at this point if CBS were to go that route.
