  1. I don't think it's particularly egregious. When Janet Shamlian introduced her piece with "as we made our way around the middle of the country reporting this week..." doesn't sound like a lack of news coverage or that it isn't on the daily record because the doctor said it was only wednesday. It's a look back on the week and it is part of the daily record. This is being overblown.

  5. Kinda looks like an ultra minimalistic take on the ESPN CBB/SEC on ABC graphics with how it handles the "slide-outs". The team names being in a typeface that appears to actually be derived from the Fox logo is a neat touch, though this looks like something you'd see on a preseason game rather than the Super Bowl. Somehow this makes the college football graphics look good.

  6. Someone who has been with KNXV since the visual overhauled relaunch in 2002 is hanging up her career. Friday, May 13th, is Katie Raml's last day. https://www.abc15.com/about-us/news-releases/main-evening-anchor-katie-raml-announces-retirement-from-abc15-arizona

  8. On the surface level, I understand Nexstar's reasoning for the streaming delay: forcing people to watch the news live on TV. But that only works if every station group does it. If I can't livestream my local Nexstar affiliate what stops me from turning to my local Tegna or Gray station stream? Then again...if no TV group streamed wouldn't audiences just turn to digital video outlets? My own food for thought.

  9. Color me shocked. 2015 has finally rolled around for Nexstar. I just downloaded the Fox 8 CLE+ app. Hell has finally froze over. Looks like it's the major markets that are receiving Roku apps. And yes, they do have live streaming. (And why 2015? Because it seems that Nexstar is a decade behind the times with everything. I bought my first Roku 10 years ago!)

  11. Yikes!!! Zero reason this was so poorly executed. Really killed the momentum they were building with the new Evening News. Would have been better off leaving the Weekend News as is if this was going to be the end result. And why did they not move back to studio 47?

  12. CBS Mornings/CBS Mornings + and CBS News 24/7 follow a traditional news format where viewers can get their fill of the news of the day. I don’t think viewers are necessarily missing out when CBS has alternatives readily available for viewers throughout the day. I would argue that the Evening News now has a very structured format that they are not likely going to change unless a 9/11-like event happens. I would be surprised if we ever see DuBois or Dickerson live in the field. That said, I don’t think cost is a factor in this situation.

  13. KWQC finally made the switch to GrayONE, and it's probably the best implementation of the package thus far.

  15. More memos to bring you as this is Out and About after all... Brad Edwards has seen the worst of WOI (the 90s and 2000s looks) and the best of WOI (recently). Late last month, after 28 years, the native Des Moiner and ex-TWC Meteorologist said goodbye to the duop that is WOI and KCWI. https://www.weareiowa.com/article/weather/brad-edwards-farewell-woi-tv-chief-meteorologist-career/524-ac6ea0b9-867a-4d54-935e-0f3aabd80535#:~:text="It has been quite a,for watching and supporting me!"&text=WEST DES MOINES%2C Iowa — WOI,keeping Iowans safe and informed. Staying in Iowa, KCRG-TV 9's sports director Scott Saville is also hanging it up. After 46 years in broadcasting and almost three decades at KCRG, March 21st will be his last day. https://www.kcrg.com/2025/02/01/kcrg-tv9-sports-director-scott-saville-retire/
