  1. At this point, CBS News better not have any expectations that Tony will break the mold and beat Tom and David. I like Tony and his reporting style but the morning shows seem to be more relevant and newsworthy now than 6:30pm. Shepard Smith said it best when FNC canceled the weeknight Fox Report back in 2013. By the time we broadcast our show, you already know the news.

  2. I’m totally shocked by this report from The Hollywood Reporter. CBS News seems like a sinking ship rn IMO, but I’m sure he was on his final strike at ABC.

  3. Some of y'all are talking about Curt like he's 90 with one foot in the grave. Have to do one round-trip, cross-country flight a week at age 60, but it's only for 20-plus weeks out of the year, and you get Fridays off on those weeks? The horror.

  4. Willing to bet that FOX 5 News is in talks with Maurice. But he, similar to Lori Stokes, is a hard news anchor with a calm personality. I'm not sure that would vibe well next to Rosanna Scotto. Yup! Curt was okay but not surprising. He's near retirement age and traveling bicoastally every week. That's a lot.

  5. I mean, probably not a great move for Matt, but for CBS, it's a big get from the #1 broadcast news network- not unlike NBC poaching Tom Llamas for Nightly. I would agree that if he was on final strike at ABC, this was a win/win at least for now.

  8. Curt Menefee has announced this morning that he is leaving Good Day, his last day is next Friday. My money is on Dan Bowens… or Maurice??

  9. His show is actually pretty good and not as politically heavy as every other cable news show now. You can’t compare ratings from a previous election year because there will always be a drop off. CNN knows they have a live anchor at midnight in case of breaking news but they can experiment.

  10. I just read the conversation and holy damn, you're getting too much into her personal life by talking about where she could be from and what her intentions are. This is a TV news forum, not a drama & gossip about news people forum. Can we stop talking so much about the private lives of those in the broadcasting industry and get back to talking about broadcasting?

  12. Another confirmed move. Tomorrow, KCVU FOX 20 moves to KRCR 7.2 and KBVU FOX 28 moves to KAEF 23.2. https://krcrtv.com/features/transmitter/fox-20-fox-28-change-channels-december-9-announcement-update

  13. When do the affiliates start to say something? Every anchor change had tanked viewership even more, and that has got to be affecting the local news on either side of EN. If I were a CBS affiliate where I was also the market leader I would be pissed that this keeps happening. (Yes, there are decent markets where the CBS station is still a market leader)

  14. I hate that I'm always so negative on here (but enough years in the local TV business will do this to you). I mean... it's barely an upgrade and they all look exactly the same. I don't think anyone really stands out here. I also don't know that it is a bad thing. They seem to rule with an iron fist when it comes to standardization, something that some of the other station groups aren't great at. Also, not to go off on a tangent, but does anyone else think it's weird that WCVB still has an old, very dated looking set? They're supposedly a Hearst "flagship".

  15. I think the triangle in the 'n' should be green to represent up on their ticker and the currency color, seems like that would've been more natural. There's also a easter egg in the bottom of the "N" and "C", which hints at the 'trapezoid N' logo, so there's a little reminder of their NBC heritage in there.

  16. I’m not sure where the fanfare was, this barely felt promoted on Domestic. Does the article account for International audiences as well? Wonder if his show is doing better or worse that John Vause’s newsroom.

  19. I'm really not a fan of that 7 light fixture. It's gaudy and wouldn't add that much on camera.
