  1. Once again, a Christmas tradition at WABC-TV is coming with the 24th annual reading of Christmas messages and greetings on Eyewitness News This Morning. With Bill Ritter now in semi-retirement, he's no longer doing it, so this year, its David Novarro, ChanteƩ Lans, and Lee Goldberg (the usual one) who'll be a part of the broadcast. If you wanna send your message in, here's the link and form to do so: https://abc7ny.com/post/send-christmas-morning-greetings-eyewitness-news/18272088/

  2. NBC10 could barely hack it at creating a brand new news operation even with NBC's deep pockets. Gray would be even worse, it's an LPTV that has no must-carry. The FCC issued clarification on LPTV rules on the 18th when this petition was filed, it gave LPTV stations more displacement protection vs old rules that would often result in an LPTV being eliminated. Given LPTV is not anchored to a DMA and TV licenses as spectrum, it looks like an ATSC3 speculation or Gray simply increasing the value of their license to about $4-$6 million just by relocating for ~$500K cost. Snatching FOX from WFXT is a possiblity, if FOX doesn't care about having a local newsroom so not quite a ABC-WPLG

  4. Dude. This is even more mind-numbing than your usual Captain Obvious posts. She's been hired to be THE 10pm host, not the first in a rotation. They might have fill-ins over the holidays between Banfield and Pavlich, but not after Katie starts. Reading is your friend.

  6. it's a shame that someone of her talent caliber and personality just disappeared from the airwaves. She and Sue Simmons should've been hitting their retirements right about now, if not still on the air like Kaity Tong.

  8. This one hurts, and I feel bad for all of the people who worked at that studio.

  9. Jesus how many frickin times are they going to change things? There's a slew of Gray stations that have yet to get this package, and here's tiny KWQC changing every month or so...

  10. Bet you that they partially obscure (if not flat out cover over) that newsroom within a few years of moving in. Pretty bold to be building something that massive in this day and age. There's a reason you see fewer and fewer newsrooms on camera, and that's because they're slowly becoming big rooms with lots of empty desks.

  11. At least they have a claim to still doing some kind of arts (interior design and light bending) compared to the real A&E, so I say they can keep it (not legally binding).

  12. This one is interesting, because NBCU and Hulu + Live TV have come to terms, despite Fubo and Hulu + Live having the same ownership, while Fubo outright declares that the Versant channels are "not... worth the cost to Fubo subscribers" (NBCU is bundling those channels with theirs for at least the current retrans cycle). https://deadline.com/2025/11/nbcuniversal-fubo-take-their-shots-amid-carriage-fight-1236628864/ 11/26: TelevisaUnivision and YouTube TV have reached a new deal, ending the two-month long dispute.

  13. an fyi, WPLG didn't dump ABC. ABC went to WSVN in August 2024 and asked if they'd put them on 7.2 - per WSVN CEO. ABC stopped talking to WPLG allegedly, according to WPLG GM Bert Medina

  14. Well, yes and no. While technically Gray doesn't own a station in Chattanooga outright, they do have a stake in Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. - the owners of WRCB - that could be used as leverage if they so choose.

  15. Since last month, KFXF Fairbanks has been converted from Me-TV and MyNetworkTV to MyNetworkTV and Gray's newest regional sports network, the Last Frontier Sports and Entertainment Network, which is Fairbanks' home of the Seattle Kraken. https://www.webcenterfairbanks.com/2025/09/02/kfxf-channel-7-is-excited-announce-launch-last-frontier-sports-entertainment-network-fairbanks/

  17. You know when I look back at Roz's career. I felt like WCBS took her spotlight away. She was there for only 2 years and then left the business altogether. She should've stayed at WABC in hindsight. WCBS just did not treat her as well as WABC did. WABC was her home. I hope she's doing well in her retirement years. I miss her so much. She had such a tenacious personality with WABC.

  19. New day, new music, and a new open style for KWQC. Hello News is gone once again in favor of 360. We all should've known that since a special open from last month for a special investigative case also used 360.
