  1. I just saw the IG post from Entertainment Tonight about this. I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed because that's the only daytime talk show I actually watch. I wonder what the NBC O&Os will replace her with. 3pm news? Maybe there will be a replacement talk show, but I'd be kind of surprised. Weren't Michaela Pereira and Ken Jeong supposed to get talk shows? What happened to those?

  2. Great drone view of the new NBC5/Telemundo Chicago studios and newsroom.

  3. Create more local news by shutting down newsrooms and consolidating newsrooms into one single voice across 2 or 3 stations? What a crock of crap. Not to mention their assertions when Nexstar and Sinclair, both conservative voices, are the ones trying to control all media. Worse, the current FCC Chair would believe this crap.

  4. This is amazing information, thank you! It finally gives greater clarity as to why Toni is not on weekend mornings and its because she doesn't want to! But she is excellent with Michelle and I think she'll be more than happy to remain as a fill in there whenever she wants to.

  6. This has been in the making for weeks. It was down to Perry and Ike Ejiochi. Part of moving everyone together into the same building, studios on 4 and newsroom on 6, was to combine resources and this is an example of that. I’m sure you have all seen the frequent appearances of ABC network talent on local since the move. Most notably would probably be Aaron Katersky and Darian Sutton. Conversely, the same with weather - Lee doing WNT W-F, and Dani or Jeff doing weekend evenings. It’s all part of creative cost savings - which we all need to do as the landscape changes. Perry will continue to contribute to network 3 days a week - but eventually his role at local will grow. Some 411 - Toni does not want a regular anchor slot. She enjoys her role in NJ and being close to home. She’s always happy to help wherever needed - but she likes her weekends to spend with her boys.

  7. Current bosses' decisions in 2026 might differ from former bosses' decisions in 2003. Crazy thought, I know.

  10. Imo, interviews like this don't hold much weight given he has done a dozen (if not more), TV interviews, etc... over the past year. The 'exclusivity', if you will, isn't there. The damage done across CBS News will likely have a lasting effect that I don't think there is anything they can do to fix it.

  11. Left-wing entertainment? Good lord. Half the shows are law-and-order (both “literally” Law & Order, and otherwise) where the police (or FBI, et al) are the upstanding, always-right force for good. CBS basically put Blue Bloods’ faith-and-family hour into a new city. Tim Allen is far from a left-winger over on ABC. Shows like Abbott Elementary are just goofy enough diversions about the foibles of workplace life. Reality wise, who sings better than who, or who is under what costume are now left wing? Kevin O’Leary, arguably the most prominent part of Shark Tank with Cuban gone, is left wing? Heck, Price is Right, the most mainstream, vanilla game show imaginable is still part of the prime time lineup beyond its daytime run.

  12. Here's hoping Chris Ruddy and Newsmax kill this deal. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2026/1/5/newsmax-tries-blocking-nexstar It's one of the few (if not the only way) I'd ever agree with them. And even their delusion towards Nexstar as part of the "liberal media" when in fact Perry Sook and Nexstar is trying to be the next Fox News or NewsMax mogul, we're still better off with Tegna surviving another day as opposed to being swallowed up by Nexstar. Let the next suitor have their shot at Tegna, or just let them die off in the open market.
