  1. I’m hopeful on KSHB too. All of their on air promo commercials are in the format / music of the new graphics. Hell even their in-newscast displays give me the vibe of the new look… but we continue to wait

  2. In any case, low ratings are not actionable, otherwise the NBC body would've sued over The Jay Leno Show.

  3. Rachel Maddow anchored the 1pm edition of MS NOW Reports. They made a good decision with bulking up their live news coverage on the weekends last year. It’s shining on a day like today.

  4. It's absolutely part of the new set. You can see the striking blue floor off the ledge.

  5. That's the dream from late 90s. Viacom and Time Warner considered merging CNN and CBS News to save money several times, first around the dotcom bubble and last time after the '08 crash. CBS News was going to be nothing more than a brand on the air, with CNN operating everything behind the scenes, but Dan Rather hated the idea so much he and staff leaked it to the NYTimes. He's allegedly part reason why it fell through because CBS Newsers wouldn't give up control of the news, they wanted the reverse - take control of CNN's background ops and have it act as CBS News extension

  6. Like I said before here, it'd be funny if Phoenix got the Scripps update before Arizona's Family (KPHO/KTVK) got GrayOne being one of the lone markets left, & a big one at that, to not have it, as well it's sister CBS station KOLD downstate in Tucson having it.

  7. Nexstar & KTLA made a terrible decision not to give Mark Kriski a dignified send off from the station

  8. Interesting. Early morning MSNOW coverage of trump's attack on Iran was with the Weekend (AM) crew. At 7, it was live Morning Joe with Joe, Mika, Willie and many of their premier commentators like Peter Baker (NYT) and Richard Haas, David Rhode and others. Good move by MSNOW mgt.

  9. It feels nasty to have it part of the open. I think it wouldnt be so bad it if had a small opening that says "the following broadcast is brought to by ________ . Fade to black or a flash. Then the opening graphics run". To be so deeply intergrated into the open always feels nasty to me. But these days. Most things in local news feels like a downgrade.

  10. Did the sponsorship really have to be mentioned in the OPEN? I'm almost certain that's a deal sales worked out for extra money. Cheapens the product right off the bat. That kind of stuff should be limited to commercial bumps.
