  1. Legacy means nothing. Ask Mark Kriski at KTLA.

  2. Incorrect. John worked at WNBC prior to joining WPIX the first time. Craig worked at WNYW prior to joining WPIX. Regardless, what makes you think Nexstar cares about legacy anchors? Take a look at what’s happening at their stations across the nation.

  3. This is going to continue into at least May. Undoubtedly Nexstar will appeal to the Ninth Circuit, and they'll probably try to move quickly with it. If Nexstar prevails, oh well, at least there was a concerted effort, but it still sucks. If Nexstar loses, then what? The only place from there is SCOTUS (unless they went crying directly to Trump). There's no guarantee SCOTUS would hear such a case like this.

  4. It looks like Gray's WOIO/WUAB/WTCL/WOHZ is finally getting its wish. Come the end of next year, the quad group of stations will be leaving Reserve Square in Downtown Cleveland for suburban Independence at the Independence Technology Center. https://neo-trans.blog/2026/04/17/woio-wuab-wtcl-tv-seek-independence/?fbclid=IwdGRjcARPnDhjbGNrBE-brmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHr6nB7pGFhzpu-k1XgmpqxdZNpU_yq0XyKceKRwVOhwmjkLciuQdd319xpE7_aem_3kK5hEhiy9drtCWEwQ0VdA

  5. Legacy means nothing in the penny pinching era, especially at Nexstar. God forbid Kaity and Mr G might be on the chopping block next. Speculation but WNBC's Chuck Scarbourough's 50 anniversary came around in March 2024 and I recall Andrew Siff clarifying that is was a celebration not a retirement, but then Chuck retires just a few months later in December? I'm not sure that was fully his choice. Dana Tyler and Maurice Dubois were both axed from CBS/WCBS. Anyone is expendable these days.

  6. They don't. Except for Kaity Tong at WPIX, Eric Spillman at KTLA, a handful at WGN and others, nobody is safe, and even then those folks still may not be safe from Nexstar's upcoming cuts.

  7. It's 2026. How are home shopping channels (on cable or otherwise) even a thing anymore?

  8. Pretty sure John and Craig were both there for at least 20 years to consider them legacy status. That legacy status didn’t help them keep their job.

  9. Kendis was laid off. My point is if you’re going to pay the big bucks to bring in network talent, then have them work more than one show. Surprised Kaity hasn’t been given the pink slip the way they’ve been giving them out.

  10. With Craig Melvin going on vacation, Hoda and Savannah will be reunited all next week.
