  3. It would be interesting if the networks copied 60 Minutes....except they already have it, and they turned it into true crime formats. The proper way to do it would be to unwind it and get back into hard form storytelling. Second, we're in a world where there's a chance that those who were fired don't have to work at networks anymore. They can set up or join independent platforms. And the settlements at 60 Minutes and CBS is, it's dying, and they're prioritizing access more than getting the facts right without fear or censorship. If they feel the same about all the other legacy networks, then this may well be the current thinking for where these people will go next

  4. NBC already tried with Rock Center and that Megan Kelly mistake of a show. ABC would rather have Sundays be with AFV with people making fools of themselves than doing a newsmagazine with their "journalistic credibility". Besides they have their 20/20 True Crime franchise.

  5. This would be a great opportunity for NBC or ABC to copy the 60 Minutes formula and hire some of those folks to do reporting there. The way CBS is going could make this easy for NBC or ABC to do something like this, IF they want to.

  6. I actually really like the weekday morning team. Not as much as when it was Ken,Lori,Bill and Joe but I really do enjoy the team they have now. Dani and Michelle are great together, I wish somehow they would work Michelle into Mornings at 10, she’d be a great fit for that format.

  7. Bottom line. KTTV puts out an inferior product compared to the other stations. They can't compete especially with a lot of their no-name talent. GDLA hasn't been watchable since Steve, Dorothy and Jillian. It became even less watchable when Tony McEwing retired. Add the fact that their main competitor, KTLA, continues to dominate mornings. KNBC is seeing a resurgence on Today in LA with the addition of Lynette Romero. KABC is the 800lb gorilla in the market. It made sense to cancel the 4am hour of GDLA. Curious how they will reassign Brooke Thomas. She is/was the 4-6am anchor. Not sure if she will anchor the 5am or be reassigned to street reporting.

  8. On Monday, June 1st, some changes will be going into effect at the CBS LA duopoly, which Chris Holmstrom and Rachel Kim have hinted at on their Instagram pages this week. Those changes include removing the 4-6am live edition of CBS Mornings on KCBS in favor of two half hours of CBS News Mornings at 4 and 4:30am, followed by the 5am hour of CBS LA Mornings returning to KCBS for the first time in nearly two years. This means that the 5-7am portion of CBS LA Mornings will be simulcasting on both CBS LA, Channel 2 and KCAL 9. They should’ve done it like this when they axed the 4am hour not too long ago but at least they are coming back to their senses now. Lastly, Rachel Kim will be anchoring CBS LA News at 11am on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and will report in studio on the 7-10am portion of CBS LA Mornings on those days, while maintaining her position as a co-anchor on the weekend editions of CBS LA Mornings.

  13. We will never see television like this again now that Colbert is done. Its the first twenty or so minutes of The Late Show from a rerun that aired on July 29th, 2003. Recorded via WTSP St. Petersburg/Tampa. Dave is being Dave with his usual monologue and funny punchline jokes. An old Goodwrench commercial featuring Stephen Colbert, the alter ego of Stephen Colbert. A promo from WTSP showcasing the Tampa Bay lifestyle and nightlife (WTSP's golden era was during this time, if you ask me). An unsuccessful attempt by Rupert G. (from Hello Deli in NYC) to learn how to waterski, before the video cuts off. Enjoy!

  16. This would probably be confined to the West Coast O&Os, as it would interfere with 4pm and 5pm newscasts for the Central and East Coast O&Os. I expect a lot of O&Os to air a second hour of NBC News Daily.

  17. With this move by KNTV, I believe that the other NBC O&O stations will do the same by ending syndicated programs and replacing them with NBC News Now programs or expanding local news coverage. https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/hallie-jackson-nbc-news-san-francisco-streaming-1236761163/
