1. Ah, I see they aired MASH rather than Seinfeld in the early days 10 p.m. combo. The theme heard in that open, listed as "Unknown" on NMSA, was also used by POP TV in Slovenia in the mid-1990s (and was once included in a Gari music sampler):

 2. This is definitely from that golden Gari era where they were basically applying the Allegro orchestra instrumentation to just about everything in its suite save for Advantage (and, now with this discovery, likely because WVIT was using this arrangement of One for All at the same time.) I truly believe first-gen One and Only energized Gari's clientel and THAT became the flavor of the year/next few years to the point where it became as saturated, and One for All got that WMGM/O and O update. I even wonder if it happened before WMGM picked it up.

 3. Now for 2 Springfields, D/FW Network Affiliation Switch, and another from, to quote Wikipedia, the market that has "no basis in television reality": Lincoln, Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney, NE. WGGB (Springfield, MA) April 30, 1993 11pm KYTV (Springfield, MO) July 29, 1994 10pm KTVT (Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX) July 1, 1995 8pm - Special early edition of "The Nine O'Clock News" due to baseball... IIRC, during the game, KTVT switched logos on the graphics and the announcers switched shirts with the new logo when it was official - 10pm? KDFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX) July 1, 1995 10pm - New Graphics and theme with the switch to Fox. KDFI simulcast the 9pm news until the fall, when they aired new syndicated programming. KHAS (Lincoln/Hastings/Grand Island/Kearney, NE) April 27, 1993 10pm Enjoy! More to come this week, including stuff from my 1991 trips to and from Michigan. Jim

 9. Actually, Pappas sold KAZA in 2010 to former Pappas CEO Dennis Davis, through a company called SCTV, Inc. Azteca continued to carry a 20% interest of the station until the end of 2015, when Davis took the remaining interest.

 16. From KNBC "freelancer" to "Internal Journalist"... Hey Gene Kang....you paying attention here<<<< Hey guys... "Freelancing" at an O&O in a major market means... Working as a 1099 employee...no benefits...no overtime...crap hours...unsecured ...no protections. Yucky money. The Idea in TV news is to actually have "made it" when you get to the top 10. You should have earned the full-time by now. Don't get me wrong, some situations are perfect for freelancing if you need and desire a very flexible employment situation....like part-time work...NOT full-time. It's just a way for the employer to string you along by telling you... "We like your work...but not enough ... to give you a real high paying slot." The "real" union gigs are protected like gold by the employers (high pay) and the unions (few union jobs left) who protect those gigs for their own.
