  1. The 11ALIVE logo needs some work done. The current one is trash! Someone had to say it!

  3. I don't know if someone has posted this already but CMG plans to introduce Telemundo to Jacksonville and Seattle. Telemundo used to have a station in Seattle on ION owned KWPX but was shut down once the station was bought by Scripps. The deal also renews their contract with WSOC. From CMG

  4. I take it TEGNA wasn't in any mood to add this jewel to KING's crown?

  5. A downgrade, like the rest of this package! Definitely something that would be considered above average for a Grey station these days Thank you so much, now half of the broadcasting community won't get any sleep tonight! (In all seriousness though great Photoshop skills) Likely because like most things that used to come out of WRIC, it was just to menacing, sharp, and jarring

  6. It's still a fairly dark set, but talent does pop better. That desk feels crammed into that corner, but maybe that's because the metal logo is so huge. I still feel that stair case corner is wasted potential - thrown in because they didn't know what to do there. It's mysteriously dark.

  7. I think Nexstar has stopped offering NewsNation to network affiliates. WCMH (in my locale) has been airing NBC's coverage since the hearings began.

  8. My sources say the studio is getting reworked. Not a full overhaul, but some changes. They are currently using the Atl&Co set for shows - some are using the main part of it (pics 1+2 above), while others are using a temporary set up in the corner of it (pics 3+4 above). Crash confirmed the changes on his Instagram, too!

  9. One-time WINK employee here. Old doppler was rarely used when I arrived in 2006. Archive video from Hurricane Charley in 2004 had heavy use of it. My understanding is it was near it's end of life, several high-rise condo buildings were built across the street from the station in the mid/late 2000s- and those buildings blocked it from being effective to the north. It may have still been a source on the switcher when WINK went HD in 2007 - but the output was SD and graphics didn't match the look.

  10. Alright time to pack it up folks, they are on the main set once again unchanged, sorry to disappoint. This thread will be kept up just in case they pull a newsroom again in the near future

  13. I don’t get the hate for that old logo. It’s better than a generic 8.

  14. The designer of the new graphics package at WRIC Just when you think it couldn't be any worse, I hop on Photoshop and say, "Hold My Beer." I better not speak too loud, knowing our luck, someone in Creative Services over there will hop on here, take one look at the old logo and be like "this is the sexiest thing I've ever seen! Why aren't we using that logo?" Next thing you know... TADA!!!!

  15. Apparently there is a contract in television even more ironclad than the one keeping The 700 Club on Freeform: the one Tribune signed to keep In The Heat of the Night on WGNA. WTF Nexstar? Do they just want NewsNation to fail as a news operation?

  16. I wonder if/when the stations will return to normal seating at the desk.. seems like WNBC has somewhat returned.. WCBS has gone back and forth.. but with almost all restrictions now lifted I wonder when the stations will go back?
