1. They may let her leave if the ratings hold up when Joy is moderating. It would make for a seamless transition. Or chances are they may offer her boatloads of money to stay. Whoopi has said it many times before, she loves them paychecks. As long as ABC/Disney offers her something good, she'll stay.

Maybe weekdays? Either way, KSWB launched and 11pm newscast last night.

Yup. Although, many were speculating that FOX would get their own O&O one way or another in Seattle after the affiliation deal ended, but with all the b.s. that's going on at 21st Century FOX, I'm having doubts that that's what will happen.

I think they had a different affiliation renewal last year during the whole FOX/Tribune spat.
5. Well, it looks like that new 30 minute experiment on GMA could be the replacement for The View come Fall 2017...
6. Or how about a group wide re-branding of their stations to: Scripps [insert Channel Number Here] News... Scripps 10 News Scripps 15 News Scripps 7 Action News Sounds stupid, but something like this wouldn't surprise me coming from Scripps.
7. Nobody takes what the Brazilian authorities say at face value. Everyone knows the problems that are plaguing the country. That being said, Ryan LIED. He did not "embellish" the story like you or Billy say, he flat out lied. This is an excerpt of an ABC News article that quotes Ryan on what happened when a gun was pulled out: And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, 'Get down,' and I put my hands up, I was like 'whatever.' He took our money, he took my wallet -- he left my cellphone, he left my credentials." And from the Washington Post: Asked why he lied to NBC’s Billy Bush in a Sunday interview about a gun being pressed to his forehead and cocked in his initial story, Lochte said he was still intoxicated from drinking the night before. He later said he “definitely had too much to drink.” I hardly call that embellishing, especially in a situation like this that has deep seated implications all around. Plus, NBC and the USOC/IOC have a contract for the next several olympic games. I highly doubt they USOC/IOC are going to forfeit any of those billions of dollars Comcast has agreed to pay because of how Al Roker called out Ryan for lying.
8. Can you explain how Lochte can be cleared and proven innocent when he himself admitted to Lauer that what he told Bush did not happen? Not to mention that Brazilian authorities are recommending that Lochte face charges for providing false testimony. And don't go overboard with Al character assassinating Ryan, because that's not what he did. Al called Ryan out on his BS and lies. Hardly qualifies as "character assassination." I understand how NBC/Comcast must be upset at what Al said due to their cozy relationship with the USOC, but that's a separate issue in and of itself. Also, if you believe that Roker has a " job to give people the story" and "not interject his opinions", then why should Billy be held to a different standard then? Shouldn't he keep his opinions...or defense of Lochte to himself? Billy should have kept his mouth shut after everything unraveled, but instead decided to go on this tangent of trying to defend Lochte, i'm sure as a favor for that exclusive interview he got from him. As I said previously, not a good way for Bush to endear himself with his colleagues.
9. Not standardized where specifically? They already have the Scripps graphics package...
10. My guesses: WTMJ... dropping the TMJ4 branding KGTV...Because they're always making stupid decisions KTNV...Seems like it would be time for a rebrand.
11. Spot on. If the suits want to be mad at someone, they should be mad at Billy for his defense/justification of Lochte's lies. THAT, brings down the reputation of the Today, the brand and the people associated with it. Entertainment reporter or not, he seriously went overboard with the excuses for Lochte. At one point you could tell that even Natalie got tired of the crap that came out of Bush's mouth when she spoke up against it and sided with Al. I get the need for Billy to make his mark, and fit in with the program, but I think in this case he did NOTHING to endear himself with his colleagues. I see nothing wrong with what Al said- unorthodox for a weather man, but whatever, he is right. Plus, it's not like Lauer gave Lochte a free pass during his sit down interview with him, so why are the brass so upset about what happened? At the end of the day, being truthful and calling Lochte out on his BS would help the overall image of Today and get some heat off the USOC/USA Swimming-- that way the people/media could move on from this story. And if NBC/Comcast was worried about what they had invested with Lochte and the reality show, etc. Then i'm sure they're thrilled at the prospect of him jumping to ABC to join DWTS...
12. Here's the new theme song. Along with a preview of a new look? Overall, it looks good.

I wonder if Dispatch is open to selling the stations separately. That may allow for other potential buyers to line up.
14. Looks like Scripps tweaked their station's websites. The top banner has been reduced in size along with the station logo. The navigation sections have been streamlined to one area. Less color to the site as well- mostly white and gray.
15. Apparently The View will be getting a new theme song for the season 20 premiere... the song is titled “World’s Gone Crazy”, written by Diane Warren and performed by Mary J. Blige http://www.showbiz411.com/2016/08/15/exclusive-the-view-gets-new-theme-song-from-mary-j-blige-written-by-emmy-nominee-diane-warren

He may be snarky, but I doubt he's "out for blood", otherwise you would see him constantly post false crap on his site just for the attention. FTVLive is much the same as Newsblues, they're there to talk/discuss/gossip about the industry. If you guys don't like it, or don't agree with the way he writes things or what he writes...don't read it.
17. In today's installment on As The View Turns... +Paula Faris was THIS close to be sh*t-canned by producers, but instead, they cut her appearances to one-day a week +Paula blames Whoopi for trying to get her ousted...Something, something, something about Paula saying that the big Whoop will regret what she did to her, etc. +ABC wanted to cut her completely from the show, but image problems/rotating co-hosts, and the whole Kelly & Michael fiasco gave ABC cold feet, and did not want to alienate any more viewers. +Raven has also been cut down to one-day a week +Season 20 begins on September 6, it is expected that they will have 8 co-hosts at the beginning and eventually ease out Paula & Raven during the season +Candace is expected to remain...although she's always absent, so it's pretty much a non-factor anyways +Jedediah Bila, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin will be named permanent co-hosts

Honestly, Abbey is good, but Heather Lake deserves the spot. She's put in her dues for many years now, and she deserves the spot.

Well, she's no Dagmar Midcap...That's for sure. IDK, everytime I see her on KNSD, she seems out of place. It's not because I was used to seeing her on 8, but her presentation/personality just doesn't mesh with the dry-ish personalities over at NBC.

KSWB FOX 5 San Diego anchor Erica Fox will be leaving the station at the end of the week. She will be moving to Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to her husband and family. No word on who will replace her on the news at 9 am and 1pm.
21. So there's three of them. I wonder when the California O&O's will start sharing one.
22. I just can't imagine Whoopi and Joy as blondes. LOL
23. I don't think she's a godsend, but she's not too bad. The thing about Sunny is that she tries to hard to be a likeable/relatable/hip panelist and it's pretty obvious. Often times she will say something or agree with something just to get on Whoopi's good side. Most of the time when she says something, i'm like WTF?
24. LOL, that article is funny as hell. But if true, it's not surprising. Paula often tried to be neutral, using that "journalist" card, but there were a few times where it was obvious that she was on the conservative side. I think that Paula became expendable when Jedediah started guest co-hosting. She fits the younger/conservative/female/strong voice aspects that they want on the show. And truth be told, I may not agree with most of Jedediah's politics, but I can respect the fact that she stands up for what she says and that she doesn't come across as a phony.
