Her KUSI Twitter went silent on Dec. 31st, but I believe she stayed on an extra week at the station. So she's been gone for two months, at least.

Kristen left in December. Brandi has been the main fill in but AFAIK hasn't been made permanent. They had Sasha Foo anchor a few weeks ago for 2-3 weeks or so.
  3. Disney doesn't even want to own 20% of ABC/O&O's, let alone 20% of Scripps. Don't understand why mardek keeps bringing this crap up repeatedly...
  4. Hey, if it'll get her off the show...
  5. Joy has been a pretty vocal supporter of Hillary. Whoopi is a liberal, but has not come outright and said she is going for Hillary. Paula hasn't said anything-- although some critics have said that she is constantly defending Trump (she says that she's playing devil's advocate when she has a counterpoint to Trump's critics).
  6. Yeah, Deborah has been a guest co-host a few times this season. She is really down the earth, and gelled well with the other ladies. Meredith has said that she has no interest in returning to The View, in any capacity. Of course, money always talks... Yeah, Candace has played it a bit safe and I think that's by design. If she gets too overly conservative and nutty like her brother, then she might put off many viewers- conservative or liberal. But, she and Joy have clashed a few times, nothing too crazy like the incident with Raven last summer, but at the end of the day they are respectful of each other and their differing views. Candace has said that she is leaning towards Rubio as her candidate. She dislikes Trump because of his who he portrays himself as. She doesn't buy into his so-called "Christian values" that he so often touts (in essence saying that he calls himself a Christian, but yet doesn't uphold the true Christian values.)
  7. I agree. They should have let Nicolle and Rosie P. grow. Instead they hastily pulled the plug on them and it just added to the mess. Raven and Michelle's hiring was because of Whoopi, fwiw. If Whoopi leaves, Joy becomes moderator. She's shown on Friday's that she can handle moderating the group pretty well and everyone doesn't talk over each other as much. As far as the contributors, they all made an appearance on the halloween show, but after that, only Sherri has come on regularly. Supposedly the contributors were not necessarily added to cover for one of the absent co-hosts. They were added to do special segments, but they've been few and far between. Last week they had Eva Longoria on the show, and she was really good. Wishful thinking on my part, but she would make a great addition to the show. I wouldn't mind if Paula left. She sticks out like a sore thumb and it gets cringeworthy watching her and Whoopi together. Obviously one can tell that Whoopi doesn't like her, but it's awkward as hell. They should have added Deborah Roberts instead.
  8. Presumably to fill the void that will be left when FabLife ends?
  9. There's been a few tabloid rumors over the last week or so saying that Joy is trying to push Whoopi out. Why? obviously because that means that Joy becomes moderator of the show. Plus, they just signed her to a 3 year contract recently. Having Joy signed does several things: 1.) provides stability and a known face to the show and 2.) it puts pressure on Whoopi to make a decision on her future at The View, 3.) It allows ABC/The View to play hardball with Whoopi and offer her a paycut... Which rumors going around say that ABC wants to cut her salary to $2 million per year. Not to mention that Joy moderates on Fridays, and the vibe on the show is MUCH better than the other days.
  10. Whoopi's contract is up at the end of the season. They won't let her out early so she can just collect her $5 million dollar paycheck from home. However, it's a toss up as to her returning next season. If you've seen the show over the last few months, you would have noticed that Michelle is on 1 or 2 times a week... max. If that's not a tell-tale sign of her future on the show, then I don't know what is. The baby shower they threw for Sara today goes to show that the executives really think highly of her and I would not be surprised if she becomes a permanent part of the cast when she returns from maternity leave. If Sara comes on board, I think Paula stays.
  11. If you don't like those shows, don't watch. Simple as that. Despite the ratings woes, they still have an audience and make money for ABC, that's why it's still on the air. Plus, Joy Behar just inked a new three-year deal to stay on the show. I do think that Whoopi leaves at the end of the season, along with Michelle. Raven is a mystery. I do think they'll incorporate Sara Haines 100% when she comes back from maternity leave.
  12. I noticed that as well. It could be that the text is not in bold as it currently is at the other stations. Here's a screen grab from KGTV:
  13. Are they using a different font in those L3's?

Probably to a certain extent, but her departure actually made the problem worse since they were short-staffed in the first place. Every station in town has a capable backup anchor to fill-in, except for XETV. The women that were filling in (with the exception of Neda) really have no business behind the desk. Not exactly anchor material. And it's very telling when they use Susana Franco and Brooke Landau very sparingly.

Let's see how long she lasts this time around. It was clear that Heather's departure really caused them a lot of problems and left a huge void to fill. Not sure why it took them a month and a half to decide to bring her back.

KFMB San Diego GM Pat Nevin is out the door at the CBS affiliate. He's already been replaced by Alberto Mier y Teran, formerly of Univision. Mier y Teran will oversee the TV and Radio stations. Let's see how he makes his mark... http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/1/19/out-the-door-in-socal http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2016/01/kfmb-stations-name-their-president-and.html
  17. The thing that bothers me is that Paula tries so hard to be Barbara V.2 that not only is it annoying but downright a slap in the face for what Barbara has done and accomplished for The View. Barbara would NEVER have inserted her religious views into the conversations they had. Paula seems to try and share hers every chance she gets. Obviously if she hasn't gotten the memo that if she's taking the "journalist role" on the show, then she should be more impartial. One of the things that bothers me about Paula is that she tries too hard to be a Barbara Walters V.2 and to me not only is that annoying but a big slap in the face for all that Barbara has done for The View. Barbara would never try inject her religious beliefs every chance possible. If Paula wanted to take that "journalist role" on the show, then she needs to be more impartial/neutral. One of the rag mags mentioned a while back that Paula only got The View gig because she knows one of the EP's of the show (Barbara Fedida, I believe). It's interesting to note that they're having Sara on more frequently, and it would not surprise me if for next season they get rid of Raven, Michelle and Paula and insert Sara. I had my doubts at first, but Candace has really grown on me.
  18. No doubt. Too bad they chose Paula over Sara. Sara comes across as genuine and natural, and Paula tries too hard and IMO trying to be a Barbara Walters clone on the show. I have noticed that Whoopi isn't a big fan of Paula and their exchanges can get really cringe-worthy, which is why Paula isn't looking over at Whoopi too much.
  19. If ABC was even interested in acquiring stations, I could only see them being interested in about 5 of the Scripps stations at most. But i'll leave that for the speculation thread.
  20. Spot on. Angelica has been there 6 months, and it seems like she still is struggling to get through her weather segment (and she's a certified meteorologist to boot). I agree with you on Parry. At least she is an improvement over Campos. They really need to promote Kristen Keogh. She's not even a meteorologist and she looks/sounds more prepared than Angelica.
  21. I would understand if there was severe weather like a tornado or a hurricane, then those would warrant more attention, but for rain that was forecasted more than a week in advance? I've mentioned several times in other posts how the quality of KGTV's newscasts has gone down hill since this ND came on board about a year ago. Before her, they were somewhat competitive( at the very least a solid #2), now they're getting creamed in just about every time period.
  22. Ridiculous. And Scripps wonders why a majority of their stations are 3rd or 4th in their markets. Downtown SD less than 2 inches. Outlying areas vary from a quarter of an inch to about 4 inches. Either way, yes it is more rain than normal but these are a series of 3 storms that have struck the area since Sunday. We still have about another day of rain left. L.A. is getting the brunt of the rain/storm.
  23. absolutely. About 15 of the first 20 minutes of the 7pm newscast was dedicated to weather coverage. I kid not. There were 2 commercials a bit less than two minutes each and then about a minute dedicated to a story on a stolen bike. Excessive puts it mildly. Every other station had Storm coverage, but they didn't go crazy with special graphics/opens, etc. The surprising thing is that Scripps allows this crap to continue. But I guess they're happy losing the ratings/demo race in SD.
  24. So, Southern California has been getting an unusual amount of rain due to "El NiƱo". So anytime there is rain, stations here in town go crazy with "Storm Watch" coverage. Anyways, KGTV has gone apeshit with coverage and had some cuztomized "BREAKING WEATHER ALERT" graphics made...
