Well it starts at the top. How is the ND still is employed when the station's newscasts are not able to win at least 1 timeslot? If this was any other place, that ND would have been canned long ago. And they can't blame NBC programming, since it has improved quite considerably these last few years...

I don't understand how they're happy with the status quo. They've been losing ground more and more in the mornings for a while now. They should have used this opportunity to start fresh. Maybe move Marianne to the 11am/4pm, and moved Megan to Weekday AM's. The problem with KNSD is that they play things wayyyy to safe, and just do the minimum to get by. At least FOX 5 and KUSI put in some effort in the mornings. This isn't a knock on Greg, but the last thing they needed is someone that will put the viewers to sleep.

Yeah, saw that on Friday. Greg is ehh. Too vanilla, even more so than Jason. They should have gone outside and filled the position. The AM newscast has been getting stale for years, and they went with the safe, stale choice. Not sure if that's going to help them out in the long-run. Not saying Greg isn't qualified, but they needed to inject a bit of personality/life into the show.
  5. I believe this is the second time KPIX sends one of theirs to The Talk. As far as LA not being included, supposedly they were running a contest at the O&O stations where they would fly 2 viewers to see the taping of the show. So i'm assuming they ended up picking 2 winners from each of the cities represented above. So, made no sense including LA when the winners could easily drive to the studio.

We get snow in the local mountains... only in the winter-time and a few inches at most. God forbid we have another major wildfire, i'm sure they could use this weather vehicle for that type of coverage. mmmmkay.

Aside from the truck, what other equipment do you think they'll get? And seeing that KGTV doesn't like to get left behind, that Breaking WeatherRate+Tracker1000HD weather lab will probably be a semi-truck. But hey, I'll overlook this new gimmick, if that means that Dagmar gets paraded around town in the new weather truck, LOL.

Actually, the longest running anchor team in San Diego (not just mornings). I think Dan and Nichelle have been paired together for over 10 years. I do wonder if they were not going to renew him, and he just decided to leave seeing as his start date at CW6 is only a few weeks away. Still, this move is very surprising. I am not sold on Greg yet. He still is not ready to take over as an anchor, plus they can't afford to slide down more in the ratings... KNSD has a history of going both ways when it comes to filling anchor vacancies. They hired from outside to fill Marty Levin's spot, and Bill Menish was replaced in-house by Jason Austell. I do think this time around, they'll get someone from the outside.

Jason Austell, longtime AM anchor at KNSD NBC7 is moving over to XETV CW6 as the 4/10pm anchor. http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2016/06/longtime-news-anchor-switching-stations.html Not sure why he would leave KNSD for a sinking ship at XETV, but it is what it is. He starts CW6 on July 11th. Curious to see who NBC replaces him with.
  11. After several weeks of speculation, Michelle will indeed leave The View. It looks like she will not be coming back on-air to say good-bye, as they have scrubbed the talent open at the top of the show on Friday.

News flash. Most tv stations rely on the the NWS's Doppler for their use. Very few stations can/have Doppler Radars of their own. I don't know how it's sad that a tv station does not have it's own doppler radar... the reality is, that it's a costly expense to have.
  13. 2 or 3 years I believe. I think that they may try out KGTV/KERO next since they're the only stations that Scripps has in California. Plus the (former) GM of KGTV also oversaw KERO as well.-- As a regional manager/gm, I believe. Knowing that Scripps is trying to cut costs, I wouldn't be surprised if they outsourced some of KERO's positions to KGTV.
  14. Yes, the ratings have declined over the years, but that was from their all time high's in show history. They're still beating The Talk (barely). As far as game shows, they'll have a hard time putting one up to compete against TPIR.
  15. If those "game shows" were to be of major help for ABC, they would have done them a while ago, when they actually had a chance to can The View and before The Chew went on the air. And no way in hell, ABC gives back that hour to its affiliates. What some posters seem to forget is that The View is still doing very well for the network--ratings wise and revenue wise. Why would they get rid of a show that still makes them money? All the problems the show has been plagued with over the last few years get magnified by the gossip mags, but despite that, they are doing well.
  16. Hard to say what ABC will do with The View after this year. The show still makes money for them despite their woes/controversies, etc. Plus, as i've said many times, it has name/brand recognition. IF they decide to replace it with another show, they face an uphill battle quite honestly. The problem for ABC right now is the fact that they have LIVE with Kelly sandwiched in between GMA and The View. You could try and replace The View with more GMA, but it'd be very hard to hold over those loyal GMA viewers until The View's timeslot. Plus, let's not forget that the 4th hour of Today is more Kathy Lee and Hoda, than TODAY. KLH is a different show from Today, and the only association to it really, is the name. Hell, if they really wanted to expand the GMA brand, then ABC is better off going with Good Morning America's The View.
  17. I wasn't knocking her. I was knocking the fact that she's making $5 million dollars to essentially work 16 hours a week. Hey, if she can get it, then more power to her. Most people won't even see/make $5 million bucks in their lifetime, let alone in one year.
  18. Probably has to do with the fact that she won't get that kind of money/hours anywhere else. I mean, to work 4 hours a day, 4 days a week at $2.5 million is beyond ridiculous, let alone the fact that she was making $5 million to do the same. She had no choice but to suck it up. Like she always says on the show... she's only there for the money...
  19. Yeah, Jedediah I really liked. Hopefully she'll be a frequent guest host next season, maybe filling in on the days that Paula takes off? Whoopi has nothing to bitch about. Who wouldn't want to get paid $2.5 million a year to work 4 hours a day, 4 days a week? And i'm sure it's driving her nuts that Paula is sticking around, LOL. I read a while back that Michelle's contract was structured in a way that she was only paid for the appearances that she made. I don't know if that is correct or not, but she did get the short-end of the stick. Candace has grown on me. I think she tries to stand up for herself/beliefs/convictions but tries to avoid too many conflicts/deep political discussions because she's probably trying to preserve her clean image. She's done well for herself and family, and i'm sure that she doesn't want to alienate her fans that do not share her same political views. Same can't be said about her nutty brother, but that's a whole nother story...
  20. Daily Mail reporting: Candace, Raven and Michelle will all leave the show before the current season ends in August. Whoopi signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million Whoopi will continue her 4-day schedule; Friday shows will be live, and moderated by Joy Paula will stay on Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines are expected to permanently join the panel for next season

I present to you: "Consumer Bob's Gas Price Forecast"! Emmy-award winning material right there! I'm not sure why they didn't fold Bob's beat into the NBC 7 Investigates unit, a lot earlier. Honestly, having the I-Team on one side and the consumer beat on the other was baffling since both in reality are beats that deal with public/consumer advocacy.

I was thinking the same thing. Here in San Diego they can say: " we don't even have Comcast," or " sorry, can't take your complaint on Comcast, as that's a conflict of interest." All kidding aside, I'm sure they're aware of the flood of complaints that will come in because of Comcast. It might actually help the complainant out, since NBC won't want too many stories of these kind on air and might be willing to remedy the situation quickly.

  24. When they added her where? to GMA or The View? And Candace was hired as the conservative voice of the panel. Do you honestly think, they would put two conservative voices on there? Baloney. Barbara-whether one likes her or not, had been long established even before Paula probably began her career. Barbara's biases were evident, more so towards the end of her run on The View. That being said, I cannot remember a time when Barbara touted that she was a born-again Christian, conservative or even a liberal. One could assume which way Barbara leaned on the political spectrum based on how she reacted to topics/stories talked about on the show, but she never publicly acknowledged her political leanings.
  25. There has been a crapload of instability at The View for years now. Plus, the way their scheduling the panelists is big clue that they're looking at making changes. They hired Michelle as a full-time panelist, yet now, you only see her once or twice a month. Coincidence? I think not. Apples to Oranges...sort of. ABC News hired George knowing full well he had/has history with the Clintons and maybe to a certain extent his left-leaning views. As far as the $75k donation...big mistake, but ABC took the appropriate action needed. I doubt ABC hired Paula because she was a conservative, born-again Christian. Not to mention that Paula touts as being the "journalist" of the panel that tries to provide an unbiased perspective to things, yet, it's very evident what/where her biases are. I'm not saying she should be taken off The View for that, however, if she wants to use the conservative, Christian card, then she should not be allowed to reference herself as the journalist of the panel.
