They did replace the floor. They added a turning platform where the desk is, allowing the desk to be rotated. They may be deciding to remove that platform all together.

Not too surprising since Entravision and Univision have a good working relationship. Plus, Entravision's Univision affiliates all use some variation of the O&O graphics and music.

I think that they'll stick around for the 2016-2017 season, if only due to next year's presidential elections. That being said, Whoopi has always made it known that she's there for the paycheck ($5 million, in fact), so regardless of all the rumors going around that she is not interested in extending her deal, it'd be pretty hard to pass up that much money for a nice, cushy gig-- and she knows it too. I think her displeasure (and rightfully so) has been at all the turnover the show has experienced, but with some familiar faces coming back, that should help things out quite a bit. Plus, I think everyone is anticipating a Candace/Raven catfight on the show...

It doesn't say if they are going with a 6 person panel, or if they will go with 5 and rotate the 6th spot? So when Candace and Paula are off, do they then bring in two rotating contributors, or one? It is good to have Joy back, at the very least to keep Whoopi grounded a bit. There were rumors earlier in the summer that Joy had rejected a spot on the panel because she wanted some say in how the show was run, and ultimately she felt it wasn't a fit. However, Variety mentioned that the reason Joy decided to come back was because Barbara Walters had asked her to return.

I've noticed that as well and have found it peculiar. I believe Inside Edition moves over to KFMB on Sept. 7. That will leave a gap in KGTV's schedule, unless they plug in re-runs of Right This Minute until they are ready to launch The Now. As for the branding. Several weeks ago, Steve Atkinson went to cover the ESPY awards in LA and in the promo he said "Catch my reports, on ABC 10 News at 5,6,7 and 11pm". Then during the morning teases for the Midday news, in the L3 they started putting ABC 10 News, where before they scrunched the ABC 10News together. Also, they went from 10News to ABC10News on their instagram page. Little subtle hints, but the ESPY promo was the most blatant example of it. P.S. that old logo on the desk drives me CRAZY, especially when the updated one is being displayed to the left on the Weather Center desk. Go figure.

I don't think Anne will do The Now, as they have Itica on the anchor desk already. Maybe as a reporter/fill-in anchor? Renee doesn't seem too bad, she'll fit in well at 10. I noticed that she said ABC 10 News in that clip. Looks like they are slowly incorporating that branding.

I was waiting to see what they would plug in at 4. They have quite bit of openings on the scheduling front since Let's Ask America got canned, and with IE moving out, they had an hour to program. I figured they would add in a 4pm newscast. Honestly, my guess is that the 4pm newscast will be heavy on the Team 10 Investigations and the Breaking News Tracker. For all the complaints I have about KGTV, this 4pm newscast is a welcome addition since it will make the other stations- especially KNSD up their game at 4pm. For sure Itica gets a seat but I was hoping they would have added Dan Haggerty to the desk as well, but it looks like they will be going outside for that hire. As for the Live Center position. That is the spot that was vacated by Natasha Zouves after she left for KGO. So most likely the new hire will do traffic in addition to the Live Center.

Not surprising. They were playing up Kimi's arrival a little too much and had promos of her within the first week. I'm guessing that they held off on Natasha's departure due to her maternity/disability leave and to not scare off the viewers since they've been doing fairly well in the mornings.

She's been doing some radio work over at 760AM, so she literally just had to walk down the hall to the tv side to fill in.

I think the recommendation was to put it at either 3 or 4pm. All the Tribune stations will be carrying it. It will supposedly feature local reporters discussing stories of interest in their respective markets. Not sure how much they will rely on the local stuff, but it's one of the elements of the show.

He could be a part of that program that the NBC O&O's have that recruit MMJ's from college or small market stations (not sure of the name). KNSD has had one for a little over a year now and she's improved quite a bit.

I've seen that commercial a few times on KNSD. He only says about 4-5 words in the whole thing. Guess they're trying to capitalize on his local celebrity status to sell a few more solar panels.

Hasn't been officially announced. The rumors say that Faris and Cameron-Bure will be joining- no confirmation just yet.

I noticed that. Although, they are still using some non-HD cameras as well. **On a side note (not related to tv news)** But SDRadio is reporting of a format switch for possibly a few stations. One of the commenters mentioned that it could be the KFMB radio cluster and that several CBS suits were seen in the building. Anyone have any info? I hate to speculate, but could the owners be looking to sell KFMB cluster as whole (radio,tv)?

The orange must have been from Allen Denton's tan. But, Carlos Amezcua said yesterday that they got new teleprompters and filters (perhaps some new studio cameras as well?). It looks a million times better. I'll see if I can get some screen grabs to show side by side. **on a side note** KFMB was back in the crappy Chopper 8 yesterday.

Is there a reason why they still haven't painted the chopper to match 8's current logo?

I'm afraid to ask. Let's hope that they're doing their due diligence with the maintenance of that chopper... Annual Inspection? or Annual tear down of the engine?

That's why the video from Chopper 8 was very crisp and stable. I still don't get how the hell they pay a company to operate a chopper when it's down at least 50% of the time. Ridiculous.

The idea/concept/trial run of GAA was a good one when Josh Elliot was still at ABC. Would they still be able to capture that lightning in the bottle like they did a few years ago? Like I said earlier, it's a lot easier to re-tool a show like The View due to the brand recognition, than it is introducing a new one. Plus, with a show like The View, you can dip into politics and entertainment without being held to that same journalistic standard that a show like GMA would have. Not to mention the political dollars they could reap during election season... The hard part is getting good people in charge with a vision/plan that will stick with it, and not someone who will constantly make changes at the first sign of failure. The problem with The View right now is stability and direction. Do they want to be all entertainment/celebrity gossip, newsier/political show, or combo of both?

I believe it was down to S.E. and Nicolle for the last spot last year. Then rumors started flying that she, Whoopi and Rosie O. were getting into constant fights during the test panels they were conducting. If they really want a View that sparks and encites controversy then they should add Candace to the panel, alongside Raven... They already went at it a few weeks ago, imagine what would happen during the course of the season?
