Wow that departure from California she was national OAN. Then the late XETV CW6 she was there till the station literally shut down the news department. She immediately bounced to FOX 5 KSWB, and now Dallas-Fort Worth, wow she was sports anchor at FOX KSWB btw.

She was the jack of all trades.

Sports, Anchoring, Reporting and she was last doing weather for the afternoons and evenings.

  2. KPIX has been handling the National stream of CBSN for the last several weeks. One of the reporters announced on their Instagram that next week they will go back locally to CBSN Bay Area.

Not sure if CBS is getting back to normal or if another O&O will be taking over the National Stream.

  3. If we throw KPIX into the mix, I’d like to nominate Veronica De La Cruz If she wasn’t on leave, she would be good for representing KPIX since she’s done network level anchoring Early Today on NBC before going to KPIX.

Second choice, I’d go with Allen Martin since he’s a good newsreader and to the point.

Ken Bastida, don’t get me wrong, he is good too.

  4. Wow KUSI until 11am. I’m impressed lol

i grew up watching Rory and Bill on the weekends from 8-9, so it’s nice to see KGTV and KNSD brought back the weekend morning newscasts.

KGTV follows KGO’s schedule (5-7am) but they recently changed their Saturday morning schedule from 8 am to 9am now so on the weekends is 9-10am

Super late to this, but morning news in Phoenix is about to be as crowded as it is in Orlando and San Diego.

KUSI is like the only station with a weekend morning newscast or did they bring back NBC from 8-9am again.

im surprised FOX 5 hasn’t launched a weekend morning show.

  6. Len Kiese mentioned on his Facebook that he is leaving WFTV and headed to KPIX to anchor the Morning and Noon show.

He replaces Kenny Choi who will go to reporting duties.

  7. KGO is debuting ABC7 NEWS at 3 in a few minutes just like it’s sister station KABC which has already been having a 3pm newscast followed by World News Tonight and ABC7 NEWS at 4.

  8. KGO separated their anchors for Social Distancing due to the Corona Virus by sitting in different areas of the studio.

KPIX some what social distant themselves but are still holding down the desk together.

  9. For the first time, KPIX was broadcasting their 6am broadcast from  the Newsroom/CBSN set. Not sure if they were using the main studio for CBS NY Weekend News or set maintenance.

The San Francisco area stations are tag-teaming their choppers to have constant pooled aerials of the Coronavirus cruise ship docked in the harbor.

Unfortunately, the CBSN Bay Area TD wasn't paying close attention and this was up for about 15 seconds.

At least KRON mentions And uses the SKY7 Logo on their newscasts.

“Sky 7 from our media partner ABC7”

I didn’t know KPIX uses KGO for their chopper feeds. I thought it was KTVU all this time. Makes me also wonder what KNTV uses for “Sky Ranger.”

  11. CBS All Access Promos has been using Ruelle’s - Where We Come Alive.

Now I just noticed ABC is using the same song for American Idol Promos

i don’t think I’ve ever seen 2 different networks use the same song at the same time even though CBS was first to use it.

Yeah, WJZY via Fox is definitely upping their stock in the news product. Good Day Charlotte seems to be more like their sister station WAGA's Good Day Atlanta, where there is aim to have contemporary music played particularly Billboard Hot 100 songs during the newscast bumpers.

I wish KTVU was like that in the mornings. They only play music on the 9am newscasts.

However, during the evening newscasts around the :43 mark of the hour, they tease a story and then a toss to the final weather check with a camera shot outside while using a song related to the story. For example if it’s a water skiing squirrel story, they will use like “Surfing USA.”

I guess the CW O&O in Seattle (KSTW) is not mentioned on those plans, but then again, neither is WFOR's sister station, MyNetworkTV affiliate WBFS or KTVT's independent sister station KTXA.

KPIX only produces minute weather forecasts on KSTW

  14. Veronica and Ken mentioned at the end of last nights Bay Area Nightbeat Newscast on KBCW that it will be going off the air. Tonight will be the last produced newscast on KBCW.

Starting Monday (12/9) KBCW will be broadcasting/simulcasting an hour of CBSN Bay Area Newscast in place of its 30 min Nightbeat Newscast.

Veronica will continue to anchor the hour long 5pm newscast on KPIX.

Ever since the launch of CBSN Bay Area, KBCW now simulcasts KPIX 5 Morning News from 4:30-7 in place of informercials.

There was a short stint back in 2016 with the simulcast of Good Day Sacramento from 7-9 on KBCW 7 days a week but that didn’t last long.

  15. Meteorologist Jacqueline Bennett seems to have joined Spectrum News Los Angeles.

her Facebook posts says “Big News to Announce. Stay Tuned.”

but that studio looks very recognizable.

she previously was at KRON, XETV and NBC Boston
