her Facebook posts says “Big News to Announce. Stay Tuned.”

but that studio looks very recognizable.

she previously was at KRON, XETV and NBC Boston

I wish Jessica Castro stayed. She would’ve been a great replacement. 

Question is who will be her replacement?

It was just announced on the 5pm newscast that it will be Double Duties for Darren Peck as he joins the weekend evening crew at KPIX with Brian Hackney and Juliette Goodrich.

He currently does weather for the 6am Sat and Sun weekend newscasts.

Seems like it’s a normality for the weekend weather anchors to do double duties which I’ve seen at other stations and markets.

Brian Hackney who is also a back up fill in weather anchor has been doing Hybrid Anchoring and Weather at KPIX on and off the past 4 years.....This finally fills in the weekend void when Roberta Gonzalez used to be the weekend weather meteorologist before her final year at KPIX switching to weekday mornings after Lawrence Karnow left for KRON. 

More morning shakeup at ABC 7 Mornings.

Alexis Smith, Traffic anchor is going on maternity leave and moving back to Seattle since her husband got a new job opportunity. She came from Seattle prior to ABC 7.

this comes months after Jessica Castro, Live news desk anchor left the station not too long ago.

KOFY just ended their 9pm LIVE produced newscast from KGO with a short farewell. They announced that they will continue to air their rebroadcasts of ABC 7 News at 7pm and 11:30pm 

Looks like KRON will now dominate the 9pm slot.

KPIX is running a ticker on the Noon newscast right now saying DirecTV and AT&T U-Verse May drop KPIX. 

Right now KRON is still blacked out on DirecTV and AT&T U-Verse customers. 

This is will be a double whammy.

Happened to see that KOFY is promoting a local Dance Party Show that’s been a staple program filmed at the studios normally seen on weekends. However, starting July 22 at 10pm, it will be seen Nightly which is normally a rerun of the 9pm news produced by KGO.

Im looking at KOFY’s tv schedule on Titan and it shows that Last Man Standing is airing at 9pm on July 22 which is normally ABC 7 News at 9pm on KOFY TV 20. 

Is KOFY is cancelling the 9pm Newscast all together since they stopped doing weekend newscasts not too long ago?  

Also it looks like they are bringing back a full hour of the 7pm news on KOFY to compete with KTVU Plus and KPIX (only :30 min). Unless, its ABC 7 News at 6 rerun?

Because it was during their 11am newscast when they broke the story followed by an ABC NEWS Special Report.

Interesting how KGO is simulcasting WPIX and then switched to WCBS of the Breaking News of the Helicopter Crash into the building.

Wow a 4pm newscast? They might as well bring back the Noon or 7pm news unless they don’t want to mess with KGTV since they are the only 7pm newscast.

Watching KPIX now and they moved the active text area to the bug. Just doing a lookaround it appears of the news producing stations WCBS, KCBS, WBBM, KYW, KPIX, WBZ, WFOR and KDKA all made the switch. While KTVT, WCCO, KCNC and WJZ (of course)  where the bar and text area is still 4:3 safe.

 

 

 

The only part they goofed up is the AMS seal during the weather report. It still ends at the old part before the extension lol.

true on the left. However KPIX does use a lot of GFX on the left like “New at 11:00, STORM WATCH, and other Story Clip Art shared with the O&O’s when needed if it’s not the half CBS Eye.

KPIX and KBCW finally moved their bug out of the safe zone. You would think their LIVE Bug would have been moved too. Nope. Looks a bit odd now with a stretched out Lower a third.

makes me wonder tomorrow how or where they will put the placement of the Stock Board on the noon newscasts or Doppler Radar during stormy weather since it was outside the safezone
