  1. Yeah, looks like they killed off “We Investigate” for this new slogan “Moving You Forward,” in preparation for its new 7pm newscast and I guess they wanted to add it to the intros now by revising it in Look N and now debuting on Look S’ intros.

Im guessing they want to compete with KGO’s “Moving Forward and Building a Better Bay Area.”

Wait, Emily's also leaving? I thought it was Michelle? Unless it's both?? I remember when we were discussing who might or might not replace Michelle Griego and now both of the names tossed out there are leaving. KPIX is definitely in need of hiring newbies at this point, and hopefully it won't have to be another expensive move like poaching VDLC several years ago. The bench continues to deteriorate at KPIX. Also Susie's departure is a big loss because of her housing-focused reporting, a big issue in the Bay Area. sigh

    That “blog” reported Emily’s departure.

yes forgot about Michelle! That’s 4!

they just hired Justin Andrew’s. So that’s one replacement for a reporter position.

  3. Susie Steimle announced on Twitter that it’s her last week at KPIX.

    Second, Emily Turner also leaving…

this is a third departure from KPIX this week with Veronica De La Cruz officially gone.

  4. News Director Tim Wieland from KCNC has confirmed via Twitter that Michelle Griego is leaving KPIX and will be heading back home to anchor CBS4 Mornings.

Michelle tweeted she will be heading home in August.

Not sure who will replace Michele’s position... The only candidates come to mind are Anne Makovec, Emily Turner, maybe Veronica De La Cruz if she comes back since she’s been on LOA for health and personal reasons.

Watch they never get a new newscast set and wind up broadcasting from the newsroom until they are sold again...  This reeks of what happened to WFXT/Boston until it was pawned off to Cox.  It's not a bad setup for a newscast newsroom set with the colored lighting, mounted monitors, and whatnot. However, this market is too damn big to be having such weird issues on rebuilding a new news set, pandemic or not. I think there was a decision higher up the Nexstar food chain to stop rebuilding the newscast set as there's something else in the works.

Or did they pull a WNBC and had to scrap it because they didn’t like how it turned out and it’s back to square one...

then again it took KGO almost 6 months to debut their set.

Linda Kane did great work. I think that KTLA look was inspirational for a lot of others.

I was others! I used to make my powerpoints in middle school using her templates (orange, blue, green, purple,) and making lower thirds In MS Paint for my titles 😆

im surprised she didn’t include KRON Overture era graphics as well as the first generation KTLA flashpoint era gallery photos.

But oh it’s so nice to see this gallery of the 2005 graphics. It still looks fresh.

Agreed on the 4PM to be more in line with the rest of corporate, but I get that they don't have to be cookie-cutter if they really don't want to.

Whatever KNTV does at these two new time slots won't have anything on KGO - WNT continues to lead and Jeopardy/WOF is hard to beat anywhere.

I actually think what KNTV has right now is still best-positioned to challenge KGO, but based on the station's hard push towards 'deep-dive' investigations and documentaries, this might be the way to get them out to a broader audience. Still, I suppose this is NBC's meh response to cutting off All Access?

Isn’t Ellen getting cancelled? That’ll give KNTV a chance at 4pm unless they throw in some syndication...

    So following KPIX's footsteps.......

KNTV is adding two new newscasts at 5:30pm & 7pm beginning June 7. Nightly is being moved to 6:30pm.

Back in January 2019, KPIX followed this similar practice by moving the Evening News from 5:30 to 6:30 while extending the 5 a full hour, and added the 7.

Makes no sense with the 7pm since it’s already KPIX and KTVU Plus.

at least have a 4pm show like KNSD and KNBC.

The only 7pm show I recall was KNSD, KNBC and KNTV when they had the California NonStop sub channel.

I do like the new ABC logo, but not the size of it.  Rather the ABC size be same size as the 7 logo and be right beside it. Like CBS 2 for example.

By 2033, we should have this logo. 😉

That’s going to look like KGTV’s logo since it’s literally sitting on the upper left hand corner of the 10

I heard a choir of angels singing “HALLELUJAH” when you said that.

Is Bruce in charge of the O&O look? Is he as bad as the (not going to name) person who is the creative director at WJZ who was so against the “look”
