Though I prefer the placement of the ABC bug on KGO and KABC's logos over WABC's, it would be nice for WABC to keep it's ABC bug where it is to maintain some semblance of individuality from the other ABC 7s. It'd be cool if the different ABC 7s made the circles a different color or perhaps a different shade of blue for some uniqueness.

A bit off topic but, out of curiosity did ABC deliberately go for the channel 7 dial in major markets?

I’ve always wondered about that as well as the other NBC 4’s, FOX 5 and CBS 2 affiliates.

KNTV would be wise to finally add a 4pm newscast and bring him in to split evening duties with Raj, Jessica, and Janelle.

After 30+ years, I think Ken is done and tired. I finally watched his announcement on DVR and he would rather be on his tractor farming. And yes, he said he does farming “LEGALLY” 🤣

After a decade or more of rumors and rumblings, we can officially point to an example of THE ABC O&O standardized graphics. No more speculation and doubt. It's happening.

As I said on the Discord, the insert graphics are unchanged, as the show has always just used the station's current package. The open came now because Marc Brown just took over as anchor.

I’m getting Scripps vibes with the boxes and color schemes in that open. All we need is Inergy 😆

  4. Amanda Starrantino recently left WRTV and heads west to KPIX as Morning and Noon anchor.

She replaces Michelle Griego who left a few months ago to head back home to KCNC where she previously worked.

    You mean KGO?

KGO airs World News Tonight followed by ABC7 News @ 4 PM. Yes they use at @ symbol only the 4 pm show. I don’t know why.

Followed by ABC7 News at 5

World News Tonight at 5:30, then a full hour of ABC7 News at 6

KPIX will air CBS Evening News at 3:30.

    Judge Judy at 4pm

    KPIX 5 News at 5 and 5:30

    KPIX 5 News at 6

    CBS Evening News at 6:30

KPIX 5 News at 7 (30 min newscast)

So they're just going to relegate People's Court to the CW? Even when Judge Judy will be on reruns from now on? I guess so...

I know they're going for KGO here and it's an affordable choice but a lazy one.

KGO doesn’t air a normal half hour newscast at 3pm it’s called “Getting Answers,” which is mostly Covid related interviews/trending news topics and simulcasted on Facebook Live. The conversation continues during commercial breaks where viewers can ask more questions that they don’t cover on air on FB.

KRON airs a full hour 3pm somewhat fast paced from their newsroom weekdays.

  7. Starting next Monday, KPIX will be launching a half hour 3pm Newscast with Allen Martin followed by the CBS Evening news with Nora O’Donnell at 3:30pm.

this will replace the full 3pm hour of The People’s Court followed by Judge Judy at 4pm.

any other CBS O&O’s doing this?

Any thoughts on when the remaining stations will switch over? I thought they would switch at the start of the new TV season, but that has now passed. Lol.

Besides KNSD, which stations still need to roll out?

also the olympics are over, they still rockin them rings on most O&Os

Phil Blauer will be her co-anchor. Wow, that's a long evening block of news. Now 4p-8p.

For a 7pm slot, pretty interesting that KSWB now wants to compete with KFMB’s CW newscast and KGTV.

KUSI started it years back but discontinued it and KGTV took advantage of that time slot.

  10. After 53 years in the industry. 40 years in the  San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose market. 30 years at ABC7, Wayne Freedman is retiring.

KGO just did a piece about him and his on air goodbye. This is a big loss following another reporter, Vic Lee who left last year after 50 years in the industry starting at KRON and the last 15 years at KGO.

I wish WCBS would use a ticker like this rather than the one they use. I also don’t think it’s necessary to have a ticker on all newscasts.

Tell that to KFMB. They’ve been running a news ticker on its newscasts since July of 2001 when they did that 5 year stint rebrand to “Local 8 News.”

also I think that station logo insert in the ticker is such wasted space with that big gap. At least shrink it.

  12. Megan Healy who is viral for her TikTok teleprompter challenges leaves KSBY and joins FOX5 San Diego.

South Bay Reporter, Chris Nguyen recently at KGO is now a correspondent for CNN based out in Washington DC.

Yeah I saw this promo popping up on KNSD featuring Look S backdrops.

Aug 9 and they still on Look N.

with the other stations that still haven’t debuted the new look, you’d think it’s embarrassing now that the olympics are over.

  14. With the Delta Variant rising again, are the stations in your market taking a step back again?

KGO started to separate anchors again as of this morning.

they currently have 5 different set up options for its anchors to socially distance again.

    1. Desk

    2. Weather Center

    3. Side Set

    4. Newsroom

    5. Lunchroom

Our favorite San Francisco blogger says the KRON news director is out.

I’m not surprised with the “conflict of interest,” of him being in a relationship with an anchor.

also Chris Nguyen mentioned on Twitter he is leaving KGO after 7 years. Friday is his last day. Not sure where he is headed next since he didn’t mention or specify.
