1. About a year ago..... They actually use two different cues from Beyond for stingers. One for "Breaking News" and for "Developing Story".
2. Katie Couric is on Good Day this morning.
3. Nexstar made a case that one of the two (KRBK & KOZL) wasn't top-4 ranked.
4. FCC has greenlighted the KRBK & WHDF deals today (10/17).
5. And almost eleven months after it was announced, the KOFY deal is finally done. It was closed earlier today (10/15). Granite is only left with Syracuse's WTVH.
6. Channel 7 wrapped up the 11pm show early? It's 11:33pm/ET.
7. Did that 4pm show ever came to fruition? Or those plans were scrapped?
8. Non-consummation notices are now posted. The deal is officially dead. That's a shame. They could've at least close out the CBS portion of the deal since it was greenlighted. I wished Gray would've partnered up with Brady. They would've had a better chance getting everything approved that way. Let Gray keep the NBC & CBS, & let Brady get the ABC & Fox. But I would not be surprise if Gray come back at this. At least with the CBS portion.
9. New M&A from Brady tonight. He wants to acquire WNYS outright for $100K. Brady already owns WSYT Fox 68 in Central NY.
10. Thanks for the post! They made the announcement at the right time, as the Sunday lineup is about to begin.
11. The deal is done. WZBJ is all Gray now.
12. You forgot KCWE at 9.
13. It didn't waste anytime announcing its new 10pm show. It starts Monday! And Hearst has rebranded its CW outlet as "Maine's CW".
14. I'm not sure if they even launched The CW yet, despite inking that subchannel agreement on the 1st. I'm sure if they would've launched it on KCWH or KNHL 5.3, that info would've been posted on either 10/11now or the NBC Nebraska website by now. The CW zip code listing even says that KXVO is the "Lincoln" CW station, and not KCWH or KNHL.
15. Paperwork's up. $375K is the price. And they also have an LMA set while it waits for the FCC greenlight.
16. Okay. New M&A. Remember the Hoak deal, and Gray wanted to form a JSA with KHAS? But later re-sold it to an indie buyer (to please Wheeler) and move the NBC affil to its MyNet channel? Now Gray wants to buy out Legacy's KNHL for $475K, and turn this station into a "satellite" of (you guessed it) KSNB. Here's the contours of KSNB & KNHL signals. KSNB signal reaches Lincoln, while KNHL reaches as far west as Kearney. But significant overlap in between. And both of these signals are VHF low. Should this deal goes through, it would be a return of the peacock on Channel 5 in nearly five years. It also appears that Gray & Legacy have a "Multicast Channel Agreement" to carry programming (from KCWH-LP) on subchannel 5.3.
17. They won't be moving until the new building is completed. And that's a few years out.
18. It's been greenlighted.
19. This post confirms it.....
20. Okay. Follow-up. Someone uploaded this. This is from KETV. They're also will be airing GMA Day at 11am/CT on Monday. I know I said earlier it was doubtful, but now I wouldn't be all that surprise if the network supply an earlier 12pm/ET feed for these stations (WBRZ & sister station KRGV; along with KETV). And should that be the case, this would be the first time since Port Charles that the network supplied an earlier feed for one of their daytime shows.
21. Thanks for catching my error.
22. A couple of closings tonight. The deals of WSST to Marquee Broadcasting and the KLAX to Northwest Broadcasting, were closed last Friday (8/31). Marquee is in the process of getting Gray's WSWG, one of spinoffs of the Raycom merger.
23. Hey Look Up!
24. So we all knows that the GMA's third hour begins one week from Monday. And I was curious to see what WFAA was going to do with the midday schedule. Will they keep the noon news and tape delay GMA Day, etc, etc. So I looked at the guides, and it stated at 9/10 that WFAA will have its "Midday News" at 11am and GMA Day at noon. Yet I did not see any press release or any confirmation that Channel 8 was moving its midday show from noon to 11am. But check this out, another ABC affil that air news at 12pm/CT, WBRZ in Baton Rouge, their guide says GMA Day at 11am and their local noon show is kept. So I'm kind of puzzled. If the WBRZ new schedule sticks and ABC is giving the show an early window (doubtful), then why WFAA is giving in to the network and move its longtime noon show to 11am, should that schedule stick.
25. Another M&A for Gray? It appears that Gray could be acquiring the license of the soon-to-be defunct PBS outlet KNCT in Waco. The PBS outlet goes off the air on Friday.
