  1. I'd say it depends on the station. "PIX 11" and "KTLA 5" work better than "The CW 11" and "The CW 5" because those stations were much more established independent of the network. The same would be true of WGN should it regain the affiliation. But it mid-tier or low-tier markets where the affiliate never had an identity outside of their affiliation? Probably not. Of course, it's entirely possible that Nexstar could up and change the network's name...
  2. I wonder if there will be a name change.
  3. So, is having one soap on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the other soap on Tuesdays and Thursdays too complicated?
  4. What about the other two days?
  5. Other ideas: CBS New York News Now. CBS News York Now. CBS News Now York. Now CBS New York News. Now News New York CBS. Now New News York Now Now Now. Now Bedtime.
  6. So, while CNN proper was focused on its "The Fourth in America" special tonight, their live coverage of the Highland Park, IL, mass shooting was instead airing, for at least a little while, on HLN. That was a pleasant surprise. Rather conveniently, the coverage preempted an episode of Very Scary People.
  7. I believe there's a saying for this: "If it bleeds, it leads." The fact that it bled five hours ago is apparently immaterial.
  8. There's always HLN, though she'd have to switch her focus to true crime.
  9. All we need is "MSNBC Overnight".
  10. Maybe they should move all the opinionated shows to HLN. It'd be better than 19 hours a day of Forensic Files.

  12. Their website looks like it was designed for mobile devices with no consideration for desktop browsers (or anything with a screen resolution greater than 1000px wide). That's just lazy.
  13. WMUR's Tom Griffith is retiring in a few months, with his last day being June 3rd. https://www.wmur.com/article/wmur-new-hampshire-tom-griffith-retirement/39653352#
  14. That's more like two or three decisions, but either way, he's ending strong.
  15. Well, it wasn't an exit interview per se, but Colbert did devote a segment of tonight's show to Licht's news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_rVUr3g5Gs
  16. I wasn't aware that Scripps had started a news operation on WBPX. Are WHDH's numbers for their 10pm news counted with or without WLVI? Because if it's with, that seems unfair.
  17. Colbert should given him an on-air exit interview. I'm completely serious.
  18. I imagine Tegna being put up for sale as a complete set and not piecemeal didn't help. None of the other broadcasting companies out there (Hearst, Graham, Hubbard, Scripps, Weigel, Bahakel, Griffin, etc.) could afford to buy Tegna because it was so big and expensive. Yeah, I know groups are sold in their entirety for tax reasons, but that's starting to feel like a loophole being exploited.
  19. Aha. Well, no one posted that link here, and I'm not psychic, so...
  20. Sorry, but where does it say that Cox will be getting WLNE and KLKN?
  21. It's only more accessible if you get TV over-the-air and your remote only has arrow buttons -- or your TV has an actual dial. Other than that, I get the feeling you have something against WCNC... I'm sure Graham, Hearst, and Scripps would dispute your characterization of them as "dead-end owners".
  22. Well, yes. But if the FCC does approve it, it should be with a requirement to divest stations in (going off the top of my head) Atlanta, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Memphis, and Seattle.
  23. Well, let's hope the FCC at least requires divestitures in markets where both Cox and Tegna have stations.
  24. Okay, I'm confused. Soo Kim and Standard General aren't Apollo, right? But Apollo's still involved? And what's the point in WFAA, KVUE, and KHOU going to Cox?
