  1. So, how did WFTX (Fox4, which hasn't been locally owned in decades) behave during all that?
  2. Let me guess: Starts with a "t", ends with an "r", and normally has a blue bird in its logo?
  3. Welp, there's Hearst's purchase for the decade. Meanwhile, I can just imagine the reaction from staffers at WVIR when they realize what they missed out on.
  4. I'm sure their viewer(s) in Alaska and Hawaii are grateful.
  5. Speak for yourself. Most people I know up here in NH would call it 95. But, then, I also live near a completely different Route 128... The brand confusion with WJAR hasn't help there. I still think they should have gone with "NBC 15" instead...
  6. I can see it coming down to which URL requires the fewest taps on a mobile browser. "cbsboston.com": 13 characters "cbsnews.com/boston": 18 characters "wbz.com": 7 characters "cbslosangeles.com": 17 characters "cbsnews.com/losangeles": 22 characters "kcal.com": 8 characters
  7. It'd be hilarious if, after this mess is over, Standard General ends up bankrupt and sells off its stations... ...to Tegna.
  8. Or just breakfast mode. Someone there must really like morning news.
  9. I'm honestly surprised Sinclair hasn't started selling stations. That seems like a sure-fire way to recoup some losses.
  10. You consider retransmission disputes to be entirely the providers' (read: cable companies, Hulu, Fubo, etc.) fault?
  11. An hour of true-crime investigation programming every night? Hard pass. In fact, I doubt affiliates would like it, either.
  12. Maybe it's for a new TLC show: Little People, Big Video Wall.
  13. You put that in plainer, more clear-cut language than Rosenworcel did. Maybe you should've helped draft the order.
  14. And not conflict talkers (Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, et al) and court shows, either. I'd rather have all-day news than those.
  15. Hopefully he's not the only one waiting to make a purchase. I'm sure Graham, Hearst, and any company that has room to buy even one station (yes, even the networks, though they're undoubtedly pickier) is keeping an eye on this saga.
  16. I honestly didn't know any of that. Thanks. And good for him.
  17. Complete with footwear.
  18. Which is why I'm surprised Martin didn't partner with Allen Media. Right now, the only advantage he gets from partnering with Kim/SG is Tegna's relatively greater reach in terms of reaching the population as the company owns stations in large markets that AM isn't in. But, of course, that's all hypothetical until Kim/SG actually owns the stations.
  19. Is he aware that the issues with the deal have absolutely nothing to do with Soo Kim being a POC? Also, I think Byron Allen might like to have a word with him...
  20. So here's a question I just thought of: If the deal falls through (as it should), what happens to the sale of Standard Media's stations (KBSI/WDKA, WLNE, and KLKN) to Coxpollo and Coxpollo's WFXT to Standard Media? Is that deal strictly contingent on the larger Tegna deal, or does Apollo have its own reason to sue SG for breach of contract?
  21. It'd be poetic justice if he manages to push at least one of the R commissioners into changing their position. But based on who nominated them, I'm not holding my breath.
