  1. Years? More like decades. In fact, I don't remember them ever having a single primary host; the regulars simply take turns introducing stories.
  2. Shades of SiriusXM...
  3. ...which is channel 20. We see what you did, 9NEWS.
  4. He's leaving?
  5. Maybe they could put on... (beat) ...more cop shows. I mean, it already has the call letters for it...
  6. I don't doubt its legitimacy, but you could have done some quick edits before posting. Just saying.
  7. And should brand as such.
  8. They need to end HLN first.
  9. @MarkBRollins88_v2, I'm seeing a number of typos (such as "Serasota", "Molbourne", "Balimore") in your initial top-30 post. Are you sure you didn't get that list from an unedited draft? Maybe it's time to merge the existing top-four boards into a single top-five or even top-ten board.
  10. Didn't WCCO used to have a satellite station with the KCCO calls?
  11. That's putting it mildly. That clip feels like a few minutes of some public access station....twenty years ago. (On the other hand, I know which on-screen talent I'd want to see more of... )
  12. And hopefully they'll sell them piecemeal. Paywalled.
  13. It's not so much a throwback as getting in line with what the other nightly shows are doing.
  14. No New York?
  15. I'm reminded of elements from recent Star Trek shows and movies...
  16. Hm. I haven't been paying attention to the repacking; I honestly thought WNEU was still transmitting from NH. Well, at least you're not saying GBH should sell 2 to NBC just so Boston could have an NBC 2...
  17. Meanwhile, I suppose the obvious buyer for WSBK in Boston would be NBC Universal as that would give WBTS/NBC 10 Boston a full-power home. I don't see Cox being interested in acquiring it for a duopoly with WFXT, Sunbeam already has a duopoly in WHDH and WLVI, and Hearst's WCVB is already partnered with WMUR.
  18. I'm sure the United Center brought in extra cell towers to handle the increased load, but they're undoubtedly still getting slammed. And trying to talk over an iffy connection with all the background noise of a full arena? Yeah, that's not even worth attempting.
  19. https://www.nexttv.com/news/pluto-tv-adds-local-news-from-fox-stations Strangely, the article fails to mention that the 17 markets in question are likely the 17 markets that Fox owns stations in (not counting Gainesville).
  20. Is DirecTV legally barred from using websites to verify stuff like that? Or paying attention to industry news? I mean, doing due diligence kinda seems like low-hanging fruit here...
  21. Most of the CW's programming would be right at home on a basic cable channel...such as WGN America.
  22. "Hosted" as in provided the live video, camera, camera operator, on-site lighting and sound equipment, etc.? Just out of curiosity, does all that have to be brought on site every time the president gives a speech from the White House?

    Sunbeam

They lost some of their studio lighting? (Watch this video and you'll understand. That's a ridiculous number of lighted panels and surfaces.)
  24. Alas, nothing about killing off HLN.
  25. As someone who recently moved to a Spectrum area, I can attest to their use of streaming apps instead of traditional cable boxes. Not having a traditional cable box was a bit weird at first, but the change actually worked out. What helped a lot is that the Xumo Streambox's remote has number keys. I do miss having a DVR, though -- Xfinity has had a cloud DVR for a few years now, so hopefully they're lending Spectrum a hand in getting that going.
