  1. I think part of the problem is that Nexstar...err...Mission hasn't fully acquired the station yet and I highly doubt Adell is working with Hulu and YTTV to get their channel on those two platforms as they have one foot out the door already.
  2. Looks like the logo is getting a slight tweak too.
  3. I have a feeling they will switch very soon. KDKA was tinkering with the studio backdrop to match the new graphics yesterday before they implemented the new graphics today. It's possible KYW has some bugs they need to work out first before they implement the new graphics.
  4. I don't think its as big of a deal now. You don't hear much about KDKA radio these days (the controversies died down the moment they canned Wendy), so the brand isn't as "toxic" as it was a few years back. Not to mention the KDKA-TV branding is a lot stronger than the radio branding these days so they were able to overcome any controversy from the radio side. I don't even know where Wendy is these days. She keeps bouncing around different radio stations in Pittsburgh that have a much weaker signal compared to AM 1020. She's basically an obscure nobody these days.
  5. I dunno. WPVI tried to replace MCTYW with a modernized version of it and we saw how that turned out. Both WPVI and WABC are number 1 in their markets respectively. They have less of an incentive to rebrand like the struggling CBS O&Os do.
  6. They've getting a new newsroom. I have a feeling whenever they publicly reveal the new newsroom is when the rebranding will take place.
  7. I'm sure Sinclair is thrilled to hear about this.
  8. I wonder if this has anything to do with it? https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/nbc-to-launch-daytime-national-news-program-in-former-days-of-our-lives-timeslot/511965/
  9. Not to mention that Hearst's graphics hub is based out of WESH so that station is going nowhere.
  10. Between him and Gary Amble retiring at KCTV. One has to wonder when Brian Busby at KMBC will do the same.
  11. Looks like they're using the Fox News package for their lower thirds.
  12. Considering he does the 10pm news on WPHL, I would be surprised if he's not next in line.
  13. At first KCPQ was asleep at the wheel while the other stations in town were covering it. Then after a while, KCPQ started simulcasting Fox Weather while they were covering the tornado warnings. They eventually did go to local coverage only after the tornado warnings dropped. Either way, KCPQ looked ill prepared today.
  14. The way they redesigned it, it would be easy to remove the "Local" branding.
  15. Only a matter of time before the same thing happens with WOI.
  16. I'm not up to speed on my sport gambling laws, but I take it that these are markets in states where sports gambling is legal?
  17. Kind of dumb when people can watch a stream of WNEP news for free.
  18. They haven't. It does air on the "city channel" on Stirr which I think is why they launched those channels. Because outside of The National Desk, there are no local news programs on those channels.
  19. Curious if WRTV isn't getting a ratings bump because of all of this.
  20. This just a bad idea all around. I can only imagine what the sport teams who had no say in this decision are thinking (especially the Cubs since they jumped in late).
  21. Coastal Television (KYUR/KTBY) is making news for all the wrong reasons (this story ran in the NY Post today too): https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/anchorage/2020/10/12/anchorage-mayor-admits-to-inappropriate-relationship-with-news-anchor/
  22. Wow, picking fights with any of your colleagues is a bad move, especially someone as established and well-respected as Jovita Moore. Sounds like WSB isn't losing much on the radio side.
  23. I'm sure what happened at the CBS Broadcasting Center in New York had all the O&O's evaluating their contingency plan. Makes sense that the back up for KDKA would be KYW since they're in the same state.
  24. In fairness, at least the station disclosed that in the story. That's actually more than I expected a Sinclair station to do.
  25. I personally agree with his opinion, but I also know Tegna tries as hard as it can to be impartial, especially compared to other station groups. So this obviously isn't a good look for them and hence the result. But like others have said, hopefully another station will pick him up after all the dust settles.
