  1. With all the craziness going on in the world, we missed this Talkback 16 segment about the new graphics. https://www.wnep.com/mobile/article/opinion/talkback/talkback-feedback-graphic-content/523-72f29d9b-c000-4016-beda-9812766cc30d
  2. I think the reality is that this is the plan in action. As long as WCBS is able to get something out to their audience, they don't care how its done. Even if that relies on a team 3000 miles away.
  3. You have to wonder if the people complaining about the size of the font are watching it on the SD feed. I figured the font size would be one complaint, but I didn't realize how passionate people were about the colors in a newscast.
  4. There was a Talkback 16 segment that aired earlier tonight. They did have a portion where callers were calling in about the "new changes" that WNEP was promoting in the lead up to today (its toward the end of the video). https://www.wnep.com/mobile/article/opinion/talkback/talkback-16-coronavirus-and-kurts-hair/523-4d31169b-73c0-404e-b200-391d597d762b
  5. Without going full Speculatron, isn't WFXT's affiliation agreement tied to KOKI and WHBQ's?
  6. Sounds like a recipe for something exactly like this to happen. That said, this story is a pleasant break from the rest of the news. Especially this week.
  7. Oh darn, guess I can't watch the news on KDNL then. Seriously though, this will impact markets a lot harder than St. Louis. Columbus comes to mind with Ohio State being on Sinclair stations there.
  8. Ick, I hope not. That would be a huge downgrade compared to their current package. I think you're right though sadly.
  9. Nothing against the standard Nexstar CBS affiliates graphics package but it's nice to see that a large market station like KOIN will have something that is somewhat still unique in comparison.
  10. If I remember correctly, I think that the KNXV newscast was originally going to be based off of then-sister Fox affiliate in Kansas City. This is what those newscasts looked like. In comparison, the newscasts that KNXV started with are definitely a lot more toned down. Go to 1:46 to see the start of the newscast.
  11. Joe Crain from WICS in Springfield is fired after protesting Sinclair's insistence on using "Code Red" branding for their weather coverage. https://www.newsweek.com/joe-crain-springfield-illinois-weatherman-viral-video-code-red-weather-alerts-sinclair-1442776
  12. I'm surprised they haven't done anything like that sooner. Especially since NY1 has had a Spanish language channel for quite some time now.
  13. WINK also operates WXCW so I wonder if this is a stepping stone towards WINK producing newscasts for WUVF/WLZE. Makes sense considering how fast the Spanish-speaking population is growing in Southwest Florida.
  14. I like how they publically dump on WGN America saying "it's a channel "very few people watch". Not exactly professional even if its true. These ever increasing retransmission fees for OTA channels are pretty idiotic and a big contributor to the rising cost of cable. Ironically by doing this, broadcasting companies like Tribune are driving viewers away. That said Spectrum couldve worded this a little more professionally. Off topic: I like the background music even if it's a tad overdramatic.
  15. Here is what Spectrum is running on the channels blacked out. (They also make it known how they really feel about WGN America)
  16. I usually like KDKA but that's a pretty crappy move. He didn't even get to say good bye on the air before they fired him. Probably not. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't WBAL and WIYY some of the best performing stations in Baltimore? I'm sure it's a cash cow for them.
  17. You also forgot to mention their tweets which said "We also offer our stations reporting from the Beltway and beyond that are not partisan or bias in any way." And "we are committed to fair, unbiased journalism". You would think their PR department would have something more believable by now. https://mobile.twitter.com/WeAreSinclair/status/1067926594818199552
  18. That's not fair. Usually the dumbass idiot is still somewhat likeable.
  19. I like it. Definitely more creative than something like "Fox 26 Plus".
  20. It probably would look decent if it wasnt italicized.
  21. Confirmed
  22. Is the L-Bar new or have they been using that for a while?
  23. Good lord people can be stupid. But Kyle Clark hit the nail on the head with that one and handled it better than I ever could.
  24. KTVI Chief Meteorologist Dave Murray announced that he is going to retire in September. Glenn Zimmerman will take his place. https://fox2now.com/2018/07/10/fox-2-meteorologist-dave-murray-to-retire-glenn-zimmerman-chris-higgins-promoted/
  25. I was at a fair in downtown St. Louis today and happened to walk past KMOV. This is what I saw. Make from it what you will.
