  1. Definitely a step up from the pile of garbage that was the last Gannett Package. Gaudy is the word that came to mind when I saw it, and adding the "Run-Down" on the side just made it look even more junky.
  2. I was in the Springfield, MO market and noticed that the 10 minute newscast that Fox affilate KRBK has graphics that seem similar to the Fox Tribune ones. Anyone else think they look similar? http://www.foxkrbk.com/
  3. Not sure about TXCN or 24/7 but NewsWatch 15 is basically reruns of WWL newscasts.
  4. I was the opposite. I couldn't stand the "vertical rundown" on the left side of the screen. It made the screen looked all cluttered and junky. I like having it on the bottom of the screen now instead.
  5. Any bets that WCNC will rebrand themselves again?
  6. Yeah you're right. Remember, when this law was first passed, ABC's Saturday Morning programming consisted of Disney Channel reruns and CBS's Saturday Morning Programming consisted of Nickelodeon reruns. The CTA sped up the process but cable television channels targeted toward children made Saturday Morning kids programming redundant and a dated relic.
  7. Actually she's been commuting between Kansas City and St. Louis every week. I didn't even realize that but I can understand her getting tired of a long commute like that every week. But who knows, maybe Meredith buying KMOV had a part in it too. http://www.kansascity.com/entertainment/tv/article475820/Meteorologist-Katie-Horner-leaves-St.-Louis-station-returns-to-KC.html
  8. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family as well as the entire WSB team. He was well known in that market and traffic reporting in Atlanta won't be the same anymore.
  9. Didn't realize that WBZ was behind WHDH in the ratings. That's sad considering how lousy WHDH's newscasts are.
  10. Good point. I also wonder if this means that station groups like Hearst will need to find another website designer or if Nexstar will allow them to keep working with IBSYS.
  11. Maybe they'll be able to make a website that's user-friendly and easy on the eyes for once.
  12. They were lucky to stop it after the first commercial. I think it was toward the tail end of that program too so that extended break could've gone on for a few minutes in one of the most crucial parts of that program. I remember watching it and thinking how beautifully done it was.
  13. Oh Sinclair! Actually I do think it was a miscue of some sort. I'm actually going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. An incredibly stupid miscue that should've been caught before the whole commercial ran-through, but a miscue nonetheless.
  14. Not only did they rip off the WEWS logo, they also ripped off the "6" of the WKMG logo.
  15. It may be a rip off of the WEWS/WVUE package because some elements of the WTVA version do look different.
  16. It does look like a cheap version of not just that but the WEWS/WVUE package as well.
  17. Shame. I like the current azcentral layout and still can't adjust to the new Gannett layout.
  18. Can't fault them for having a sense of humor. The funny part was that the newsvan's front headlight was out.
  19. That whole thing is a mess and basically it seems like it was the result of a breakdown in communication between the school and the station. This station also did the same thing in other schools around the St. Louis area but they must've been able to verify that he was a reporter. The reason the one in Kirkwood went into lockdown was because they weren't able to verify that he was a reporter for KSDK for whatever reason. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/education/ksdk-reporter-working-on-school-safety-story-prompted-kirkwood-high/article_aa2ef2de-9905-5b26-a500-1105ae4b0df5.html
  20. Not a fan of the solid blue "4". It gets blended in with that dark blue background.
  21. So I wonder if this means that AZCentral.com is going to get this redesign as well. They've been kind of independent from the other Gannett websites since it's the website for both the Arizona Republic and KPNX, but if this is including newspaper and tv websites, that's leading me to think that AZCentral is going this way too. Which is a shame because I like AZcentral as it is now and still can't get used to the new Gannett websites.
  22. The colder than usual weather hit KMOV especially hard last night as a water pipe burst, flooding their newsroom. http://www.kmov.com/video/featured-videos/Pipe-burst-in-News-4-newsroom--239240941.html
  23. You know its pretty bad if WPBF is beating them.
  24. And just as I predicted, Sinclair is using WNWO as leverage to force companies like Buckeye to carry the new cable news channel Sinclair is developing in exchange for carrying WNWO at 10 times the previous cost.
  25. They really were trying to be like WPVI with that open were they?
