WAWS (now WFOX) report on the CBS affiliation switch from WJXT to WTEV (now WJAX) in 2002. At the time Ch. 47 was UPN (that affiliation moved to ch. 30 after the switch, with primetime airing at 11pm after the news)

The only thing I can think of is that maybe they're going to launch a 7pm newscast to replace Extra to make up for axing the 4pm?
did the commercial aired during the breaks of Weekend today in NY or weekend today? I can track it down + post the image since i have youtubetv + both are on record.

Sort of good news for broadcasters?! KidVid isn't going away anytime soon, but they can air at least 1/3 of the required three hours of E/I content on a multicast channel as long as it's fulfilled. Majority may remain on broadcast. Also Noncommercials (PBS) are no longer required to use E/I tag on top of screen. Of course dems blasted the move as a "disserve" to the community. I say what's the point tho? Preventing the inevitable much? It's not like syndie is calling for new content for weekend programming. We may see some stations be sly + probably put 2/3 on multicast. Maybe extended Weekend news for some?

Also, FOX O&Os will be the new home for Weigel's "DECADES" this coming fall.

It appears FOX 5 News FINALLY just changed their theme from OSI Music to Stephen Arnold's Beyond tonight at 6p. As in another one bites the dust...

We lost a man who turned WSVN Miami into a gigantic 800-ton gorilla powerhouse in South Florida.
The quality of a man is reflected above from comments left from many colleagues from sunbeam such as Kim Khazei.
In memory + rest in paradise to Mr. Robert Leider. I know Roly you'll like this. '88 promo in anticipation of 'SVN going indy, later FOX.

Compared to Canadians when you look at this, we Americans stunk at television.
YES to all this. The REAL CityTV station, NOT the vapid run of the mill standardized TV 'network'. Every city affiliate should have its own Breakfast TV, CityLine, Speakers Corner, hell this show (updated of course) along with their own CityNews. Make it Local. That's future NOW.
Also, rock on technotronic! I remember that joint.

Great one - has anyone tried reaching out to Dan Dean about his early KOMO work?
I've recently spoke with a YT user who reached out to Dan Dean years ago + he lended the user all the CDs of his work + those of KING + KCPQ if i'm not mistaken. He still got 'em + I'll track down to see if he'll transfer some mp3 files for a listen. His KOMO '91-98 work is a classic.

It's about time for the sports empires built by the leagues and networks to crumble. Viewers are sick and tired of being held hostage and fleeced so these entities can get more and more money.
The national championship and the Superbowl this year have been Poetic Justice.
While they're at it, just give up doing the overproduced half time shows too....it worked SO WELL for Imagine Dragons during the national championship....
End rant. Thank goodness football season is finally over.
I'm a football fan (jets fan here) and trust and believe no matter how much one loves the sport, there is such thing as "Football Fatigue" Don't let anyone convince you or anyone else otherwise. You'll miss it down the road but for now, you're relieved. When the SB match is set, I couldn't wait to move on from other stuff. This is the best time right now. The way the season ended on a whimper though is coincidence, no? High flying NFC offense teams knock out each one + one neutralized at end by a bunch of undertakers from New England. Meanwhile in college, A powerhouse knocked out by another RISING powerhouse in a neutral field that wasn't football country to begin with. What a joke of a National championship that was.

Oh you said it!
This stuff always happened...just now it's so much easier to get caught and busted because there is instant proof of said "mis-deeds".
You just can't have ANY fun anymore.
That's the thing. Social Media is Social Justice Warrior for everything. Had that gaffe happened as deflate-gate just developed, at best he would've been suspended, not fired. Put the employer at a poor light? What standards? How extreme. The employer had to cover their asses when it flamed on social media, get real. The peeps in freakin' Steeler Country are laughing their asses off, not embarrassed. Let's face it, It ISN'T that far off from the truth. I was gonna say it reminded me of KTVU "Ho lee fuk" gaffe, but...i digress. *jets fan here*-editor's note

WNJU posted a video detailing the history of Noticiero 47. Enjoy the rare footage!
That video actually was produced and originally aired in 2003 when WNJU was on the move from their old facilities in Teterboro, NJ to their current facilities in Fort Lee, NJ, which formerly housed CNBC, which in turn moved to their then new facilities in Englewood Cliffs, NJ

Damn the gfx looks good, can WNYW adapt that + make it their own, please? Their gfx now is tired at best. Hell is it possible shep can make 'special editions' of the 10p news down the road? looks so polish. And you're right NCFLMedia, WNYW is trash because FOX treats them as such. The building, the set, computer imploded (basically they're archaic, no?) dated graphics, the MUSIC. Add on others if you want. I recorded in its entirety thru youtubetv (the other half hour was FOX Fall Preview with Martin Mull) I'll see if i could rip it off as such.

Alot of news going on today.. as of 5:02pm there is no newscast on Channel 5.. they are showing an episode of "Real Estate with Rosanna". Somethings up.
And... Street Soliders with Lisa Evers aired at 6
Verifying thru my YoutubeTV account, wow. No wonder TMZ Live finished basically on the dot at 5p. News usually start 2 mins before 5. Just waiting for the shoe to drop on what happened. For their sake, i hope it was evacuation from building due to condemnation, if any.

Last Friday, WBTV aired it's final 8pm show on its Bounce TV subchannel.

Any reason why tho? Bounce came thru a cease and desist or no? Or did 3 reluctantly conceded thru calls from viewers complaining with pre-emptions at 8p with news?

Steve Edwards, Dorothy Lucey and Jillian Barberie. When you think of those three names, what comes to mind? Well, they're reuniting but NOT what you think. They're co-hosting a podcast called 'OK LA, as we were saying', a litte takeoff of GDLA even with inspired logo, thru 790KABC where jillian co-host 'The Drive' in the afternoon. Started a few weeks ago.

It's EXTREMELY likely. Kalehoff has had a relationship with ABC since the 1980s, and helped to compose the updated reorchestration to the Johnny Pearson classic "Heavy Action" which has been the theme to MNF for eons. He may have also played a hand in the original Hank Williams Jr. "All My Rowdy Friends are Here on Monday Night" and not the more recent bastardization with Florida Georgia Line as backup singers.
It's from Kalehoff, I can confirm. I've listened to it pre-paywall and have loved it. Wished i've downloaded for you guys to hear. It's either "Bravo Charlie" or "Alpha Charlie". I'll ask TVPMM if and when they could restore the files because they're missing. It's under the ABC Sports banner in the sports section.

I've been watching retrospective clips on WTVH syracuse. What a station in this land that truly fell from grace. Curse Granite forever, how that still exists I don't know (should've folded the time they sold KOFY TV in SF) Mind you the abandoned building they've had for yrs still stand. I know it still 'exists' as CBS 5 News but that's like the same team who does sister station WSTM 3 thru simulcast. Can anyone recall such fall from grace similar to 'TVH?
This next clip is heartbreaking front + back. Including near the end with Photo Montage is WTVH's 'You've got a friend' Jingle from Gari (with extended and other cuts) Included in the clips below include Kathy Orr, Tracy Davidson, Lee Goldberg, Mike Tirico, Adam Zucker + of course David Muir. Al Roker is in the clip above.
