  1. WWSB news updates and two opens toward the end from 1995:
  2. There are some vintage news clips from WXFL, KBTV, WCKT and others here (some might have been elsewhere on YT): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBR9QOS3QWy9_rzaWUTLfjw Check it out fast, because I'm afraid this channel is gonna get pulled by YouTube for copyright!
  3. Not to be critical, but many of these have been previously posted. (the Cincinnati stuff)
  4. Don't think this has been posted before; WCIA 1976 newscast with "MCTYW" open: http://www.illinoishomepage.net/vault/1976-primary-election-coverage-the-channel-3-news-at-1000pm/400513950
  5. Disgusted by Tegna's 'overhaul' of WTSP!!
  6. Neat clip from WXFL (now WFLA) from 1988. Noon news with Bill Ratliff, Barbara Callahan and Jim Smith, who worked at WXYZ for several years in the 70s:
  7. KTVI footage from the 1970s. Haven't found any news opens, but there is a brief look at the set (similar to WTHR circa 1979) to bookend this clip:
  8. KOOL news open from 1971: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=r2IO8QsmdU0;t=24 There's also a news open at 2:57, but not sure what station, could be KNXT?
  9. From Nashville, a WSMV 1983 newscast with open at 1:40
  10. Random thought here...but I picked up on the fact that WCMH had a customized version of "Prime News". I always thought it sounded different from the KSAZ or WDAF versions. If you listen closely at the end, you can hear a musical "Where News Comes First" signature. No expert here, but I don't believe any other station used that particular signature.
  11. A bunch of KOLD promos on this channel. This promo features Lou Waters, who would go on to CNN:
  12. KOLD used "Look for Us" by Telesound circa 1979. The close starts at :30
  13. NMSA finally uploaded the "New Standard and Tradition" open from WXIA circa 1981. Only problem is it is listed under "WXIA 1978" theme by Peters.
  14. NMSA added a WSB news open from 1980, listed separately from "2 Steps Ahead". It appears there was definitely a theme change in 1979, based on this snippet: The first five seconds appears to be the tail end of a midday newscast, with "1979" on the chyron. I just wonder, is this the same theme as "2 Steps Ahead" or a different theme altogether?
  15. I'm surprised "KSL 1981" hasn't been ID'd yet. It has a vibe similar to "The News Image" and "News 88".
  16. Is "WRTV 1976" actually "Tuesday A"? Listen to the first :47:
  17. WTHR from 1986 with open about 2:00 in with "People You Can Count On" a la WBNS:
  18. Hi! I found this WSYX open from 1987 with Jim Finnerty and Michelle Gailiun. Never seen it before: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4pnbyx_wsyx-6-news-11-00pm-november-12-1987_news
  19. Well, we know for a fact they did use Part of Your Life, likely starting in 1977, so I find it unlikely they didn't use it as their news theme. But no opens have surfaced. Yet.
  20. "Mr. NMSA" told me that someone reported hearing "Hello News" around the 1981 Super Bowl on NBC. In a similar way, I know that WTSP didn't use "NewsCenter II Theme" as I thought they did. But they did use the "We're the Team" promotional campaign. This is probably the biggest find ever for the Tampa/St. Pete market.
  21. Long awaited WTSP 1991 clip from the 1989-92 "NewsCenter 10" era, which had excellent production values. Shortly after this clip, in January 1992, WTSP debuted it's "simple red line" era graphics and a new set and logo
  22. WJHG in Panama City, FL, from 1987: For a small market, it's very well produced
  23. NMSA added a full sample of the "WKRC 1979 News Theme". Very dramatic late 70's theme.
  24. I've been trying to track down that music used by WBNS from 1993-96. Must be production music. WBNS used the crap out of it in the mid '90s for opens/closes/promos.
  25. Just realized you have the YT channel. Thanks for what you do. Really enjoy the vintage material, especially from Tampa/St. Pete.
    1. WFTV Channel 9
