  1. WFLA from 1991, with Barbara Callahan and Bill Ratliff at the helm of the noon report:
  2. A snippet of "Live at 5" from WFLA in 1997 with Bob Hite and Gayle Sierens:
  3. This is the WSYX reporter that is featured toward the end of the WBNS blooper tape!
  4. WBNS bloopers from the '80s/early '90s:
  5. WTSP GM Mike Rodriguez is out the door in Tampa after a short tenure. http://www.tampabay.com/business/general-manager-mike-rodriguez-is-latest-to-leave-wtsp-20190503/
  6. Did WTAE ever manage to pass KDKA in the Pittsburgh ratings war?
  7. Al drove a blue two door 1973 Chevy Impala which he transported the painting in
  8. Can't resist posting Tampa Bay material such as this 1991 WFLA promo for their Gulf War coverage:
  9. KWWL 1979 featuring a weather forecast from meteorologist Jym Ganahl, before he went to Columbus:
  10. WCMH did a decent tribute to it's 70th anniversary at 11:00 tonight. Many of the news clips came from YT, but they had some others I hadn't seen. Sounds like "WMAQ 1974 News Theme" was used during the WLWC days. Didn't really have any tributes from former anchors. They did interview longtime current employees. No mention of Jym Ganahl or Cabot. Also, only a brief clip of Mike Jackson. Anybody know if he's coming back after his stroke? Is Doug Adair still alive? Colleen made a comment to Mark saying "you would have loved him".
  11. Here in Columbus, WCMH is planning to celebrate it's 70th anniversary all day Wednesday, with vintage clips during all the newscasts. Really surprised to see WCMH going all out on this one, apparently, in light of the cuts suffered recently.
  12. Looks like WOI's Rick Taylor was the same Rick Taylor at WLWT from 1980-83 Great find!!
  13. Rare promo from WTSP's "NewsCenter 10" era. Would love to find more! After I posted, I found this gem Dec. 1991 with a "NewsCenter 10" intro:
  14. Omaha is quickly becoming one of my favorite TV markets!!
  15. I wonder if KMTV picked up "Tuesday A" when they changed from "News 3" to "NewsCenter 3" in 1979? That was one helluva news team: Chuck Roberts, Dale Hanson, Dick Fletcher. I don't know much about John McDonald-wonder where he went after KMTV?
  16. Kathryn Bursch, probably. But she's more of a community affairs person.
  17. There were rumors in 2017 that he was going to be replaced by Mark Rivera, who ended up leaving for WLS. As for the situation with the attorney, I don't know what to think. It seems a bit unethical. At any rate, I am sad to see him go. In some of the candid facebook stuff they used to do in the studio, Reggie seemed like a serious news guy. He had a good run.
  18. IIRC, WTSP dumped Jeff Laurence before the end of 1993 and picked up Brian James, who also worked at WFLA/970 Radio. WTSP made a ton of changes in that 1992-94 era.
  19. Thirty years ago today...the execution of Ted Bundy. Warren Elly of Tampa's WTVT reports from outside Florida State Prison. Side note: John Wilson, then working for WTSP, was an observer in the execution chamber:
  20. This just in from Omaha: WOWT from 1979:
  21. I'm guessing this must be production music from some European library. WBNS used it from Dec. 1993-June 1996. Looks like WITI used it for promos around 1995 and WTOG used it as a 'breaking news' bed
  22. Loving all the Omaha clips turning up!
  23. Wow, Mt. St Helen's eruption coverage from 1980. Starts with KGW, then goes to KING, then to KOMO. The Seattle coverage starts at about 14:50. ALSO, the best quality version of KING's electronic theme:
  24. WDAF in 1982...Today in Kansas City cut-in
  25. Never seen this before: Interesting 1987 interview of President Reagan by the network anchors: Dan, Peter, Tom and Bernard.
