A huge compilation of promos, news opens, and other material from WFLA between 1987 and 1995. A lot of the material from 23:00 to 29:00 is from the 1993-95 tabloid era. Some real gems here:

Getting TPIR was a coup for WTSP and so was Late Night with David Letterman. Always baffled me how WTSP has been an underperformer in news but great in programming along with airing Wheel and Jeopardy!.

I think you are right. I'm not sure if they were doing any local news yet, though. There is a preview video on YT for WFTS "28 Tampa Bay News" that says "Starting December 12th"

WTSP (ABC) from 9/10/94 with a CBS This Morning promo touting the program's switch from WTVT to WTSP which took place on 9/12/94. I also didn't realize The Price Is Right moved over well before the official switch on 12/12/94.

John Wilson and Reginald Roundtree, who both had stints at WTSP, are working together on a project about serial killer Ted Bundy. The story is behind a paywall, regrettably.

I'd be interested to see what WJXT and WTOL were using in 1980. 

According to the NMSA, the music used by KGTV & KMGH in the 1970's is a production track called "Home Run" by KPM. The music was sped up by 125%.

They've added some of the stings from Dawn (track 37) for WBNS...not sure if that was a separate edit.

Thanks to Samantha for ID'ing the "WBNS 1994 News Theme" used from December 1993 to sometime in 1996, as it appears another short lived theme replaced it before the June 1996 new Gari music.

Baffling that nobody has been able to identify the "techno" news theme that WBNS was using.

In Columbus, WCMH early evening coanchor Darlene Hill is apparently leaving Columbus. Weekend anchor Jennifer Bullock announced tonight she is leaving weekends and moving to the 'early evening' newscasts. Darlene's Twitter seems to indicate she's returning to Chicago.

The music at the end of the KOMO newscast is interesting. I don't think the KING newscast had any music, did it?
