  1. Hell. No.
  2. With ratings in free-fall, CBS 2 is on the verge of dumping Kate Sullivan from the evening newscasts. While all of this is still rumor, Feder has the scoop... http://www.robertfeder.com/2015/09/13/robservations-anchors-away-at-cbs-2/
  3. On 7, I wouldn't say worse. The content and general presentation has seemed to rebound some over the last few months. I've never been one to stomach NBC 5, as I'm not a fan of their anchor and sports rosters and their theme, though the update to Look F is incredibly nice. If it had a bit more variety, I'd put their look ahead of ABC 7. I never realized how much of WGN's charm was in their music, and outside of mornings, it's really rough. Also, Micah Materre's shtick has gotten incredibly tired, and Suppelsa can't even outweigh her, anymore. Therefore, I have no real interest in any of their weekday evening product. I don't think things are as bad at Fox as they were, if only due to some recent stability (and really nothing else). CBS 2, unlike all other stations, is in a complete tail-spin, with no visible effort being made to stop the bleeding. It's like they don't even notice.
  4. Dare I say, if Barr hadn't been so set in her ways, and letting stuff go borderline stale, we wouldn't be having the rip-off-the-band-aid changes we've seen recently. And, to be honest, everybody's gone downhill, it's just more noticeable when you've been away for awhile. For example, I watched a full edition of WGN's 9 o'clock news the other night, and I could barely get through it. That said, nobody is Fox-bad, yet.
  5. I think we have another Jim Gardner reaction shot for the archives. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10156107947590094
  6. I've uploaded the new 4 & 10pm headline cues, and, in turn, deleted that crappy, unlisted copy from a few days ago.
  7. They're a little too wide for a title bar like that, but they do pop up in other places.
  8. They did the headline cue properly today, before the open, and changed the graphic, again.
  9. The 4 o'clock news wanted to get in on the cold open fun, but you could say they got things a little backwards. Theme first, then the headline cue. It doesn't flow well, at all. I do wonder, though, if these new/updated graphics opening the 4 and 10 are previewing a slight refresh, or if these will somehow be incorporated with the new set.
  10. I'm watching the fourth hour, and I'm not noticing anything new. Is the update only during the first 2 or 3 hours? EDIT: Never mind... http://www.today.com/video/caitlyn-jenner-talks-transition-while-golfing-with-matt-lauer-522128451840 I can't say I like them over the outgoing graphics. Kind of a lateral move. I was hoping for something that matches the opening headlines, unless that changed, too.
  11. As far as I know, WABC is doing the same thing, with 'Millionaire' at 1/:35am-ish. The game show will also be airing on WLNY, apparently.
  12. My only guess is that they might be looking at a more seasoned individual, and instead of demoting Brittney upon the hiring, they're making the switch now? Eh, maybe?
  13. No joke, Giangreco had cargo shorts on at 5 during one of the last shows on State Street, the far stage right angle exposing his choice of pants. He then waved his leg to make sure viewers saw. Anyway, while this may have been just for today's season premiere, the WCL news updates were done in new format. The show started right at 11, with the first news and weather update coming at 11:28, and the full forecast at 11:57, after the show's completion and a quick break, and leading right into The Chew.
  14. I will ask, is the station seemingly content with the solo anchor setup on weekends?
  15. I didn't think I'd like a smaller desk, but this one is very well-done, and a fixed camera angle on the anchors is so much better, too. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I think the Orange Room could've maintained a little more of its namesake, and, whether orange, blue, something neutral, or some other color, I think the couch area would be even better with another pop of color.
  16. No one is taking the bait. It's not necessarily that nobody believes you, but many of us on TVNT avoid in-fighting rumors like this. Yes, we may speculate about station sales, sets, graphics, and even personnel moves, gossip (with all due respect, your story is) is something we try to brush off. I don't want to speak for the moderators, but if you are serious about contributing on here, you'll drop the Tracy thing and move on. Oh, and the hashtag at the end of each post is a little tacky, in my opinion, and you're probably not helping your credibility with it.
  17. As far as I know, she's staying on as a regular political analyst for ABC News and frequent This Week panelist.
  18. The station's having fun with it. The full description on the pic says that he accidentally left his shoes at the gym. Besides, his feet will be behind the table for the segment on Sunday, and under the desk at 5.

  20. Okay, maybe I'm missing something, but are they actually considering putting you-know-who in the only known hole right up against his old program? Yes, I get that nothing's confirmed, but...
  21. Just when you thought WFLD couldn't sink to any new lows, they briefly employed Jon Lovitz. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/jon-lovitz-pitches-in-to-help-short-staffed-wfld/154835
  22. They left out a picture of Gardner... (Please don't think I'm being serious.)
  23. At least they get through it quickly. Channel 5's sometimes last as long as the headline cues on the network newscasts. One gripe about 7's, though. With this change, I hope they'll stick to one cut of the theme, as they've used two, pretty much on alternating nights.
  24. There's some new graphics on the 10 o'clock news. Some much better-looking titles are being used during the cold open, sleeker and less cluttered compared to the promo bar they were using before. Video removed. Updated version below.
