  1. He also did time at KNXT (KCBS) for a little while in the 80's, too.
  2. Considering NBC essentially led in the demo since May, being tied is better than before. Oh, and I only verbally mentioned 'BBM since being posted in the WGN thread implied they were mentioned..."and WBBM, too".
  3. I agree that the timing was much improved, but it seems to me that the program is still really soft in the middle. After Skilling, if I recall correctly, the show was pretty much Negovan, Elwood, and Roan's content, right?
  4. So, the ratings might have actually been worse than we were told?
  5. I'm going to reiterate my joking idea from last week speculating that the lottery/Bozo studio will become a temp set.
  6. Check out the last paragraph of this article... http://www.newscaststudio.com/2015/10/06/chicago-abc-teasing-new-studio-with-large-banners/ And WBBM, too? Hmm.
  7. Feder had the ratings this morning, and ABC 7 should be breathing a sigh of relief...at least for now. WLS: 7.1 / 2.8 WMAQ: 6.2 / 2.8 WGN: 2.9 / 1.6 WBBM: 2.5 / 0.9
  8. Having all four around certainly forces Micah to dial it back, which is always welcome. It's like how the morning show is better with all four anchors than just three.
  9. #WGNat10isUnnecessaryButANewSetWouldBeBetter
  10. I have a feeling they spent all their time and resources coming up with the promo animation where the clock turns into the @ symbol, and literally did nothing else to prepare for this show.
  11. When people turn from the network shows at 10 o'clock, it really is not a good idea to be covering some trivial clickbait drivel (the breastfeeding story) while your three competitors are covering the top stories.
  12. So, someday next baseball season we'll see the WGN News at 9 at 10 at 9:57 at Midnight®?
  13. I know it's only day one, but, even though it's not even 10 o'clock, the last 10 minutes of the nine o'clock news are proving they don't need a 10pm newscast...30 seconds of weather and a bunch of viral videos.
  14. That was short. We'll see him at 10:25.
  15. The only notable graphic change tonight is #WGNat10 on the bug.
  16. I'm only talking about WLS. I'm assuming you're referring to the infamous coffin sets (picture above). If so, that set didn't come to Chicago until 1984 (possibly late '83). That said, the skyline portion (also referenced above) reminds me of the set that debuted in '81. Anyway, I am surprised that there's only a Ron Magers version...for now. Also, I think the only thing that would've improved the spot is if the News Series 2000 signature was incorporated into the music, but that would understandably yike up the production cost.
  17. No. I know what I said. 1981: 1984:
  18. ABC 7's not going down at 10 without a fight. A new promo campaign launched today touting the late newscast. Unlike some other recent promos, their not telling viewers to watch because of habit, but instead reminding viewers of their experience, which is a good move. The plugs also are far more serious and sophisticated in tone compared to recent efforts, which plays very well with the message. One thing I noticed, though, is the set on which the promos were filmed. No, it's not from the new set, but it looks like a bit of a throwback to the digs they had in the early/mid-80's, with lots of beige and a big Circle-7 on the wall. Overall, it's a very nice promo.
  19. Unrelated, but the way ABC 7's been framing things lately makes me think they might have something up their sleeves, too. What a time to be alive. But really, the weather graphics are pretty good, though the 7 day is still pretty much in the safe zone. I know because my old buddies at U-Verse haven't letterboxed the SD feed, though I guess I should be lucky to have WGN, at all.
  20. I wouldn't be shocked if Demetrius keeps with the early show. Either way, it's about damn time. Tom will not regret it, and viewers shouldn't hold it against him.
  21. One of these days they'll figure this out... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsS5tVm0WFU
  22. I think there's an EXTREME likelihood that somebody would mention if it ended. Also, while asking questions is one thing, repeatedly posing the same question(s) to the same individual(s) every few hours is where some might begin to be annoyed.
  23. Hell hath frozen over.
  24. The Journal graphics need to go. It's not like they're (generally) using something only a year or two old.
  25. Google the initials and enlighten yourself. What could go wrong?
